Cover Reveal: The Mirror of Beasts by Alexandra Bracken

Eeee! I am so very excited about this gorgeous cover :D It was revealed a bit over a week ago. And it is so very stunning. Sigh. I was lucky enough to read an early copy of The Mirror of Beasts last month, and it was every kind of perfect. Sigh. I love Silver in the Bone and The Mirror of Beasts with all my heart. This duology by Alexandra Bracken is perfection. I loved it so much, eee. Best characters. Best romance. And such a wonderful world, a mix of ours with some fantasy elements. A little magic. A little myth. A whole lot of death and hurt and betrayals. But so full of hope and sisters and love and romance and oh. These two books were so precious to me. And The Mirror of Beasts was the very best ending to this series. You are all going to love it when it comes out late this summer. And this cover! Eeee! I so love this new cover :D I did very much love the old cover for Silver, but these new covers are stunning. I love that they got a new one for Silver too. And I love that there are small differences between the US and UK editions. The book will be out on July 30th. And I'm getting all the copies of this precious book, ha :D This duology was truly perfect. You can get a free dust jacket of the new Silver in the Bone paperback cover for your hardcover from the publisher here. <3 I'm so excited about this offer, and I am hopefully getting it with the help of a precious friend :) If you still have not read Silver in the Bone, then you are truly missing out on the most incredible story. Getting to read about Tamsin and Emrys was the best. Sigh. All of the other characters too, of course. But they are my favorites, always ;) Just. Honestly. The very best duology I have read. <3

#1 New York Times bestselling author Alexandra Bracken is back with the electrifying sequel to SILVER IN THE BONE, in which fresh betrayal ignites ancient magic to wake the dead, and a cursed girl with no magic of her own must put the past to rest.

With the dream of Avalon in ruins, Tamsin and her friends are all that stands in the way of Lord Death’s plans to unleash the horrors of Anwnn on the world of the living. As the Wild Hunt carves a bloody path across continents, Tamsin is mustering allies, tracking down powerful artifacts, and traversing into new otherlands in search of a way to stop him.

Legend tells of a “Mirror of Beasts,” powerful enough to trap even Lord Death in its accursed glass, but the mirror is not all that it seems. Tamsin must confront her own darkest secrets if she hopes to tap the mirror’s strength to defeat her enemies.

Arthurian legend bleeds into contemporary action, and scars of the past are torn open anew by a starcrossed love that refuses to go quietly. This riveting conclusion to the Silver in the Bone duology will hold you in its thrall until the very last page.

The Mirror of Beasts. Silver in the Bone. Alexandra Bracken.

EEE! I am SO excited about sharing this cover today :D Gosh. I am the biggest fan of Claire Legrand and all of her books. And today I'm sharing the cover for her newest one: Extasia. It will be out early next year, and I simply cannot wait. I think this cover looks aaaamazing. I love the red and dark. I love the girl. I love the letter type used. Sigh. This book will be perfection. Links and who designed this cover are all below the cover :) I hope you all love this cover too. I think it is gorgeous. And I cannot wait to read this one. I know I will love it, just like I have loved all books by Claire :) Extasia seems like it will be fully dark and delicious and I could not be happier. It comes out on February 22nd 2022 from Katherine Tegen Books :)

My name is unimportant.

All you must know is that today I become one of the four saints of Haven. The elders will mark me and place the red hood on my head. They will give me my true name, and with my sisters I will stand against the evil power that lives beneath the black mountain—an evil which has already killed nine of our village’s men.

I will tell no one of the white-eyed beasts that follow me. Or the faceless gray women tall as houses. Or the girls I saw kissing in the elm grove.

Today I become a saint of Haven. I will rid my family of my mother’s shame at last and save my people from destruction. I am not afraid.

Are you?

Cover Reveal: Scammed by Kristen Simmons

Eee! Today I'm sharing the cover reveal for Scammed by Kristen Simmons :D It is the sequel to her very awesome con book The Deceivers. <3 And gosh! That book is getting a new cover today too :D And eee. I think they both looks amazing. So different from the original cover, but so pretty too. And I love them. I loved The Deceivers a whole bunch. See my five star review here. And I quite simply cannot wait to read Scammed. It's going to be so awesome :D If you haven't read The Deceivers yet, get moving. It's such a fun and thrilling and mysterious book. Also, Kristen is awesome, and you should definitely read all of her books. The covers feature Brynn, Caleb and Grayson. And they all look stunning. Eee. Also, there is no love triangle in this series. At all. And the romance is so sweet. Sigh. The hardcover of Scammed and the paperback of The Deceivers will both be out on February 4th 2020. Order them already. Links below. <3 About cover design: the design is by Tor Teen and the photographs are from Michael Frost Photography.

Brynn Hilder is living a life she never dreamed possible: She lives in a mansion, getting a top-rate education at Vale Hall. She has friends and an almost-boyfriend. Anything she wants, she can have.

The only catch? To stay in this life, she has to help the director of Vale Hall take down the bad guys of Sikawa City by collecting secrets and running cons.

Getting everything she wants and fighting evil doesn’t seem like such a bad deal. The thing is, she’s not so convinced anymore that Dr. Odin is really going after bad people after all. And the friends and almost-boyfriend that have made her life so different are all liars and con artists—so can she trust that any of it is real?

The stakes are higher. The cons are riskier. And nothing is what you think it is.

Kristen Simmons, the author of the Article 5 series and Metaltown, brings her remarkable imagination to this intrigue-filled contemporary drama where good kids are needed to do some very bad things in The Deceivers.

Welcome to Vale Hall, the school for aspiring con artists.

When Brynn Hilder is recruited to Vale, it seems like the elite academy is her chance to start over, away from her mom’s loser boyfriend and her rundown neighborhood. But she soon learns that Vale chooses students not so much for their scholastic talent as for their extracurricular activities, such as her time spent conning rich North Shore kids out of their extravagant allowances.

At first, Brynn jumps at the chance to help the school in its mission to rid the city of corrupt officials—because what could be better than giving entitled jerks what they deserve? But that’s before she meets her mark—a senator’s son—and before she discovers the school’s headmaster has secrets he’ll stop at nothing to protect. As the lines between right and wrong blur, Brynn begins to realize she’s in way over head.

Kristen Simmons is the critically acclaimed author of the ARTICLE 5 series, THE GLASS ARROW, METALTOWN, PACIFICA, and THE DECEIVERS. She has worked with survivors of abuse and trauma as a mental health therapist, taught Jazzercise in five states, and is forever in search of the next best cupcake. Currently she lives in Cincinnati, Ohio with her husband, where she spends her days supporting the caffeine industry and chasing her son.

Cover Reveal: The Secret Commonwealth by Philip Pullman

EEE! There is a cover. Two covers! The UK and the US released at the same time. And oh my gosh. I am so excited about this book I might die. The Secret Commonwealth is going to be perfection. Just, why is it not October 3rd yet? Hmph. I need it in my life already. Such a huge fan of the original His Dark Materials trilogy. And La Belle Sauvage was amazing too. This second book is going to be even better, I am sure of it. Eee. Lyra will be twenty years old. Gosh. I'm so excited. Okay, all I truly want is for Lyra and Will to find a way to be together again. But I fear this will never happen. Sobs. But still have hope, though. And that it will not happen when they are old. Crossing all my fingers. Either way, though, I'm going to love this book to pieces and I just cannot wait. And gosh. The covers! Ahh. I'm dying. They are SO pretty. Both of them. All of them. I love the colors. I love the train. Now I just need the story to love as well. So so very excited.

UK Cover & Details.

Lyra Silvertongue's adventures in the North are long over--the windows between the many worlds have been sealed, and her beloved Will is lost to her. She does still have the alethiometer: the truth-telling device given to her by the master of Jordan College, which guided her journey.

Lyra doesn't know the full story of the alethiometer, though. Or the role that young Malcolm Polstead played in bringing both the instrument and baby Lyra to Jordan. She's now a twenty-year-old undergraduate at St. Sophia's College. To her, Malcolm is Dr. Polstead, an overly solicitous professor she would prefer to avoid.

But intrigue is swirling around Lyra once more. Her daemon Pantalaimon is witness to a brutal murder, and the dying man entrusts them with secrets that carry echoes from their past. They learn of a city haunted by daemons, of a desert said to hold the secret of Dust.

Powerful forces are about to throw Lyra and Malcolm together once again. And the dangers they face will challenge everything they thought they knew about the world, and about themselves.

The story is supposed to be over.

So why can’t Simon Snow get off the couch?

What he needs, according to his best friend, is a change of scenery. He just needs to see himself in a new light…

That’s how Simon and Penny and Baz end up in a vintage convertible, tearing across the American West.

They find trouble, of course. (Dragons, vampires, skunk-headed things with shotguns.) And they get lost. They get so lost, they start to wonder whether they ever knew where they were headed in the first place…

With Wayward Son, Rainbow Rowell has written a book for everyone who ever wondered what happened to the Chosen One after he saved the day. And a book for everyone who was ever more curious about the second kiss than the first. It’s another helping of sour cherry scones with an absolutely decadent amount of butter.

Come on, Simon Snow. Your hero’s journey might be over – but your life has just begun.

But the princeling has secrets of his own, which explode into Mulan's life and shake up everything she knows. As they cross the Great Wall to face the enemy beyond, Mulan and the princeling must find a way to unwind their past, unmask a traitor, and uncover the plans for the Rouran invasion . . . before it's too late.

The year is 2380, and the graduating cadets of Aurora Academy are being assigned their first missions. Star pupil Tyler Jones is ready to recruit the squad of his dreams, but his own boneheaded heroism sees him stuck with the dregs nobody else in the Academy would touch…

A cocky diplomat with a black belt in sarcasm
A sociopath scientist with a fondness for shooting her bunkmates
A smart-ass techwiz with the galaxy’s biggest chip on his shoulder
An alien warrior with anger management issues
A tomboy pilot who’s totally not into him, in case you were wondering

And Ty’s squad isn’t even his biggest problem—that’d be Aurora Jie-Lin O’Malley, the girl he’s just rescued from interdimensional space. Trapped in cryo-sleep for two centuries, Auri is a girl out of time and out of her depth. But she could be the catalyst that starts a war millions of years in the making, and Tyler’s squad of losers, discipline-cases and misfits might just be the last hope for the entire galaxy.

They're not the heroes we deserve. They're just the ones we could find. Nobody panic.

Cover Reveal: Immunity by Erin Bowman

Eee! I am so so very excited about this book :D I pretty much adored the first one, Contagion. And waiting for Immunity is all kinds of painful. Because of that very very rude ending. Must know what happens next. If the rest of the characters survive. If the romance I am wishing for will happen. Ahh. I must know all the details :D July 2nd cannot come fast enough. And oh my gosh. This cover. I cannot. Look how gorgeous it is! Ahh! They both look so stunning together. Love the colors for Immunity. Sigh. I simply cannot wait for this precious book to be out. I shall love it the very most, I am sure. What do you think of this cover? :D

Survivors of a deadly planetary outbreak take on a new, sinister adversary in the white-knuckle sequel to Contagion, which New York Times bestselling author Amie Kaufman called “gripping, thrilling and terrifying in equal measures.”

They thought their nightmare was over, but Thea, Coen, and Nova’s rescue was only the beginning. After being imprisoned on a ship they thought was their ticket to safety, it’s clear that the threat they left behind isn’t as distant as they’d hoped—and this time the entire galaxy is at risk.

Now that threat is about to be unleashed as an act of political warfare. To prevent an interstellar catastrophe, the survivors must harness the evil they faced on the planet Achlys and learn to wield the only weapon they have left: themselves.

The first installment in Erin Bowman’s duology earned a starred review from Publishers Weekly, who called the plot “intricate and action-packed,” and fans of Jonathan Maberry, Rick Yancey, and Madeline Roux will relish in Bowman’s tense, high-stakes conclusion to the events of Contagion.

Exclusive Excerpt.

At some point, I must have fallen asleep.

I say that for two reasons. First, my chin was wet with drool, and I hardly ever slobber on myself when I’m awake. And second, I was no longer on Earth.

I sat bolt upright and stared out the window as distant stars whizzed past in a blur. There were no planets in sight, and judging by the swirling purple nebula ahead of me, this wasn’t the way to Nana’s house. I checked the navigation screen and felt my mouth drop open. The flashing beacon that represented my ship was halfway between Earth and Fasti.

(So you see, it is totally possible to steal a spaceship on accident.)

I guess my hand hit the EXECUTE button when I fell asleep. And because it would take just as long for me to turn around and go home as it would to finish my journey, it made sense to keep going, right? Either way, my parents would ground me into the afterlife, so I might as well earn the sentence, right?

Right.

An electric thrill rushed through my veins when I thought about the possibilities that lay ahead of me. Anything could happen on this trip. Literally anything. I could discover a brand-new element. Or meet a secret race of aliens. Or invent a new energy source. Or eat so much chocolate that I puked. Either way, I had complete freedom to make this journey into whatever I wanted, and once I realized that, there was no freaking way I could turn back. It was like the universe had dropped a gift in my lap, a gift I had no intention of returning.

I wiped the drool off my chin and smiled.

“Hold onto your stars, Fasti. Here I come.”

Pitched as "Home Alone in space," a young science prodigy who runs away in his family spaceship must team up with a plucky mutant to save the Earth from destruction.

Scheduled for publication Summer 2019.

It is not possible to buy Blastaway yet, but hopefully soon. When it shows up, in will be here on Amazon and The Book Depository.
