Waiting on Wednesday #446

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

SOULSWIFT BY MEGAN BANNEN

Goodreads Description:

A dark, epic fantasy about a girl who must reevaluate everything she believes after she is betrayed and hunted by the religion that raised her—from Megan Bannen, author of The Bird and the Blade. Perfect for fans of The Winner’s Curse and The Girl of Fire and Thorns.

Gelya is a Vessel, a girl who channels the word of the One True God through song. Cloistered with the other Vessels of her faith, she believes—as all Ovinists do—that a saint imprisoned Elath the Great Demon centuries ago, saving humanity from earthly temptation.

When Gelya stumbles into a deadly cover-up by the Ovinists’ military, she reluctantly teams up with Tavik, an enemy soldier, to survive. Tavik believes that Elath is actually a mother goddess who must be set free, but while he succeeds in opening Her prison, he inadvertently turns Gelya into Elath’s unwilling human vessel.

Now the church that raised Gelya considers her a threat. In a race against the clock, she and Tavik must find a way to exorcise Elath’s presence from her body. But will this release stop the countdown to the end of the world, or will it be the cause of the earth’s destruction? And as Tavik and Gelya grow closer, another question lingers between them: What will become of Gelya?

Seriously. Why are the days going by so fast? Ahh. I haven't read anything yet. I haven't done much at all. Hmph. But still the days go by so fast and I don't have time for anything. How rude. Okay, but seriously. This past week went by even faster than last week. How rude. I have not started reading yet either. Sigh. But I will. Sooooon. Hoping to try picking up my book tomorrow :) I am just too busy playing Animal Crossing and taking my daily walk and daily spa bath and spending time with family. And also spending hours each day dealing with my shitty stomach. Ugh. I need my medicine already. But have to wait, still. Trying to handle it, though. But it sucks. And it hurts. And it lasts forever. Sigh. Anyway. I'm trying my best. Still in pain all the time, so not catching up to anything either. I'm hoping to feel better soon. Fingers crossed. One new blog post, as always, haha. This week I'm waiting on Fable :) I'm going to try reading soon. I'm going to try catching up. Just need to have more energy :) Hope you are all safe.

Trolls. I had to buy this gorgeous small book from the movie, haha. I own many of these :) Just so cute.
Pop Figures. Eee. New Trolls ones :D They are gorgeous. And final new Frozen 2. All are so so lovely.

FABLE BY ADRIENNE YOUNG

Goodreads Description:

Welcome to a world made dangerous by the sea and by those who wish to profit from it. Where a young girl must find her place and her family while trying to survive in a world built for men.

As the daughter of the most powerful trader in the Narrows, the sea is the only home seventeen-year-old Fable has ever known. It’s been four years since the night she watched her mother drown during an unforgiving storm. The next day her father abandoned her on a legendary island filled with thieves and little food. To survive she must keep to herself, learn to trust no one and rely on the unique skills her mother taught her. The only thing that keeps her going is the goal of getting off the island, finding her father and demanding her rightful place beside him and his crew. To do so Fable enlists the help of a young trader named West to get her off the island and across the Narrows to her father.

But her father’s rivalries and the dangers of his trading enterprise have only multiplied since she last saw him and Fable soon finds that West isn't who he seems. Together, they will have to survive more than the treacherous storms that haunt the Narrows if they're going to stay alive.

In My Mailbox #440

HAPPY EASTER! Also. What. Didn't I just write a post like this yesterday? Gosh. Time has been moving so fast this week. I got my spa bath up again, eee. And my 42C baths are the very best. Sigh. It is still full winter, though, even more snow coming. Ugh. But my bath is up. And it's the best. Well, except for the air that is somehow leaking from it. Sobs. I have to add more air everyday. Until we can take it down in a few weeks to look for a hole. Which is breaking my heart, as I was so so very much looking forward to my spa baths. Sigh. I hope it will be an easy fix. Fingers crossed. This week I'm waiting on Dehaunting. <3 Sadly no new books read this week either. Ugh. Now been a whole month since I finished my last read. What even. I'm simply too tired and too exhausted. Also, still doing my daily walks. And I'm still playing Animal Crossing every day, hours each day, ha. It is the best. Sigh. Anyway. No other blog posts. My wrist is still hurting too much for me to get anything done on my laptop, which sucks. No new books this week either. What. Because we only had a few days of mail before Easter, so nothing had time to arrive. Waiting on a few more pre-orders :) Hope you are all doing well and staying safe. I am doing my best, still. Oh! Also. I have seen Trolls: World Tour. It was beyond adorable and awesome. Loved it so. You need to see it too :)

Trolls Lego. Eee. I had to buy this adorable thing, haha. I simply love Trolls way way too much. Too cute.
Pop Figures. Ahh. My newest Frozen 2 pops have arrived :D And they are all so gorgeous. Love them so.

Waiting on Wednesday #443

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

DEHAUNTING (Shadow School #2) BY J. A. WHITE

Goodreads Description:

Return to Shadow School for the second installment of the spooky middle-grade series from J. A. White, the acclaimed author of Nightbooks and The Thickety series.

Cordelia Liu’s first year at Shadow School was a success. She studied hard and made friends. She also sent hundreds of ghosts into the afterlife, because Shadow School isn’t a normal school, and Cordelia Liu isn’t a normal girl.

But her second year is already different. Ghosts are refusing to move on, the teachers are acting weird, and Cordelia’s best friends, Benji and Agnes, aren’t as interested in rescuing the ghosts as they used to be. Benji is busy hanging out with the girl he befriended over the summer, while Agnes spends all her time building a machine that might be capable of dehaunting the school forever.

Cordelia is the only one who believes that something sinister is happening right under their noses.  But what if it’s even worse than she could imagine?

I cannot wait to read this book. Eee. I very much adored the first book in this series, and cannot wait for more of these cute characters. I might have an eARC via Edelweiss, yess. Have had it for a while. Oops. But I am the worst at reading ebooks these days, sigh, so haven't gotten to it yet. But soonish, I hope :D

In My Mailbox #439

How is it Saturday again? Ahh. Time is moving way too fast. Yet way too slow too. We have so so so so much snow. I wish summer would arrive already. But I do not think this snow will go away for a long time. Ha. Fingers crossed I will be getting my spa bath out tomorrow, though, eee. Going to try to, at least. I have not read any books this week either. What even. My next book is all ready. I'm just not. Sigh. Have no energy. And I am way way too busy playing Animal Crossing, eee. Haha. Which I'm loving soso very much. Sigh. It's so good. But yeah. I really need to read soon. I just do not feel like it. Sigh. Which is the worst. The world sucks so badly these days. And I'm trying to deal with it all. Dealing with not being able to get my medicine, which I badly need. It isn't safe to travel. Hoping not to get Corona and die, which is possible with all of my diseases. Sigh. So yeah. Trying my best to stay positive :) And trying to get things done, but so far, nothing. Oh, well. I'm doing good, though. Hope you are all staying safe. So yeah. One new post. This week I'm waiting on TRUEL1F3. <3 I'm trying my best to stay positive. Isn't easy, though.

Chosen Ones. I am all kinds of excited about this book :D It sounds so awesome. Hoping to read it soon.
Supernova. The newer UK paperback edition. <3 Which I simply had to buy, haha. I must read this soon.
Aurora Rising. Gorgeous new UK paperback edition :D Love the stained purple edges. I loved this book.

TRUEL1F3 (Lifel1k3 #3) BY JAY KRISTOFF

Best friends have become enemies. Lovers have become strangers. And deciding whose side you're on could be the difference between life and death. For Eve and Lemon, discovering the truth about themselves--and each other--was too much for their friendship to take. But with the country on the brink of a new world war--this time between the BioMaas swarm at CityHive and Daedalus's army at Megopolis, loyalties will be pushed to the brink, unlikely alliances will form and with them, betrayals. But the threat doesn't stop there, because the lifelikes are determined to access the program that will set every robot free, a task requiring both Eve and Ana, the girl she was created to replace. In the end, violent clashes and heartbreaking choices reveal the true heroes . . . and they may not be who you think they are.

I shall be honest and say that I am beyond nervous about this final book. Aaack. So nervous, that I have not even read book two yet, haha. I adore Jay. I love his books. But I am still a little mad at him for what he did to the Nevernight sequels. Sigh. Which is also why I'm so nervous about this one, haha. I LOVED LIFEL1K3. So so so much. But how it ended made me so confused about what I wanted the third book to end like, haha. And so I am even more nervous now. I haven't read book two. But I have peeked, so, you know, even more nervous. Ha. But also so very excited. I cannot wait for this third book to come out, so that I can finally re-read book one, so I can read book two too :D I just can't wait. So nervous. So excited.
