Review: Unremembered by Jessica Brody

I just heard about this book yesterday, when it arrived in the mail. And I wanted to read it right away. So I did. And I enjoyed this book very much. Found the writing to be very good. And I liked the characters a lot. And the plot is just amazing, really. I even liked the ending. Yeah. This book was pretty amazing :) While I can't find anything I didn't like about it, it's still a four star for me. Because while I loved it a whole lot, there were a few things that could have been better for me. But not much. This book was nearly perfect, and I'm pretty sure a lot of other people will love it as well :) They must. Because it's awesome.

Unremembered is about this girl with purple eyes. She wakes up at a plane crash, where she is the only survivor. But she doesn't remember anything. Like nothing. She doesn't know regular things, like tv and a computer. She's not quite normal. And I found that to be so amazing. She doesn't remember anything about who she is, if she was a passenger on the crashed plane. She doesn't know what happened. And she's very confused, and no one is coming to claim her at the hospital, because no one knows who she is, since she doesn't show up at any DNA tests. Which kind of sucked. But also amazing.

She gets the name Violet, though. And I kind of liked that. I liked this book a lot. I liked learning things with her. Liked that she was confused most of the time. I won't spoil that much about this book. But I should mention a few things ;p While the police is searching for her family, she gets placed in a foster family, as she is only sixteen. And I liked her foster family. I think. They did seem nice enough. And I do suppose that I loved Cody, her thirteen year old foster brother :) He was kind of cool ;p I did like him.

There is a boy in this book. Zen. Who is the love interest. If you have read the summary, then this won't be a spoiler :) He is a boy that shows up where Violet is. Who claims to know her, that they were in love. He also says her name is Sera. Short for Seraphina. Oh. I very much liked Zen. He was amazing. A great love interest. He's kind and sweet. Might seem a bit pushy, but he's only trying to make her remember him :D And I liked that a lot. I liked reading about him. He's also very protective.

The plot in this book is very amazing. It's unique as well. And I liked it a whole lot. It centers around Sera and her memory loss. She and Zen is working on getting her memory back, and finding those who took it. There is a lot of exciting things in this book. Some action. Some funny moments. Lots of sweet moments. I found the romance in this book to be really good. Wish it had been more at times, because that's just who I am ;p But I also thought it was perfect. It was also very sweet and real. Liked it a lot.

I really don't know what to include in this review of mine. I really don't. I don't won't to spoil anything, so I really shouldn't say anything else about the plot :D I liked the plot very much, though. Some things surprised me. But I also enjoyed it. Lots of surprises. I felt like the book might have been too short. I wish it had been longer. But it is a series, thankfully, so there will be more. I cannot wait to read the next book(s). I liked the ending a lot. It's perfect. But it's also kind of a cliffhanger ;p

Unremembered is an amazing book. I'm very glad I read it. And I cannot wait for you to read it as well. The writing is perfect, and the story is amazing, and the characters are really great. There was one thing that kind of annoyed me. A tiny bit. At the ending there is this character called Maxxim, which I liked, kind of. We get to know that Maxxim is a she, a woman. But in every other word she is called a he. That was confusing. But this was only an ARC copy, so I'm sure it will get fixed later on :)

Either way, I enjoyed this book very much. I really did. Cannot wait for the next one. So many things I want to know. I want to know more about Zen. Felt like we didn't get to know him enough. So many unknown things about him. And yeah. I need more of that. I also need to know more about Sera. She was just so interesting. So yes. I loved her. Also need more romance ;p Hih. Anyway. Super excited for the sequel :) Thank you so much to Ksenia/Macmillan for the chance to read and review this book. <3

Review: Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta

I loved this book. It was just every kind of perfect. Ever since I first read the Lumatere Chronicles by Melina I have wanted to read more by her. Her writing is just so stunning. I love all her words. I was worried about reading this book, though. I was thinking that I wouldn't like it. I blame that on me not having read the summary all that well. Also, summaries lies. First, I thought it would be a boring book with at least two different point of views. But it wasn't. And it was so extremely good.

In the beginning this book confused me a bit. I loved the writing from the beginning, and the story did seem so good. But yeah. I was a bit confused about the war between all the teenagers in the Jellicoe town. Wasn't sure what it all meant. But it didn't take a long time for me to figure it out :) And once I understood it a bit better, everything just got even better. And I could not stop reading this book at all. The characters are perfect. The writing is stunning. And the plot is so great. Only thing I might have disliked was the ending :D Which was kind of perfect.

We get to know so many characters in this book. And they are all perfect. And full of flaws, which I just love so much. They are just all so broken and it's just so much love and I cannot handle all the goodness that is this book. The main character in this book is Taylor Markham. She is amazing. And kind of adorable. She's kind of broken, though. Hurting. And angry. And I just adore her so much. I always seem to love the broken ones. She's a bit mean at times, but she has a soft and strong heart. She's loving.

We get to know her very well. She's just such an amazing character. And I loved her a whole lot. She's been abandoned by her mother when she was just 10. When she was taken in by Hannah, at this school. We get to know so much about that. And while this book kind of takes place on a school, we never get to see them attend a class, thank god ;p I actually loved that school, with all the different houses and "leaders" and such. It was all pretty amazing. And written very well. I couldn't help but love it.

It centers around this war between the school, the Townies and the Cadets. It only happens six weeks of the year. But it's so amazing. It seemed like so much fun. They have divided up the town into their own parts, which place of the earth and clubs and such that each group own. And then they fight each other for it. Kind of. And if one on the other team crosses the boundary line things get ugly. Kidnappings, beatings. And yeah. I must admit that I loved it so much :D It was just so unique and amazing.

I loved reading about these teenage wars. They were pretty amazing. And so well told. Won't say more about them, just that they are pretty awesome :) The Cadets is this other school from far away that visits this town for six weeks each year to camp there in the forest. All of those guys seemed amazing. I'm pretty sure they were just boys, no girls. One of them is Jonah Griggs. Pretty much my favorite character in this book. He's a broken asshole. My favorite kind. But he's also really sweet and loving and I could not have loved him any less. He's an asshole in the beginning. Which I totally loved, to be honest.

There is a whole bunch of amazing characters in this book. Like Ben. He was just very sweet. Not a love interest at all :) I also really liked Raffy. Kind of think she's Taylor's best friend. She's just adorable. And a great friend, I liked her a lot. I also actually liked Jessa. She seemed a bit young and annoying at times, but she was also sweet. Then there was Hannah. Who I'm not sure if I liked or not. She was sweet, and she seemed kind. But she also didn't seem to care much for Taylor, and Taylor loves her so much. But yeah. Those things are explained, so I might have liked her a little bit ;p She was great.

I loved reading about all these different characters and their lives and it was all just so perfect and I need a sequel to this book. I need so much more from these characters. We get to know them all so well. Like Jonah. He's just so sweet. And broken. We get to know a lot of shit about his dad. And I hated it. And loved it. It was just perfect and heartbreaking. And Taylor. We learned so much shit about her mom. It was awful. And it broke my heart so many times. But I also wanted more and more pain.

Like when Taylor and Jonah have this small meeting with this old friend of Taylor, Sam. It broke my heart. He has it so bad. His mother is all kinds of crazy. She let so many bad things happen to him when he was smaller. And now he's living as a junkie and selling his body and it just broke my heart and it was so perfect. I need more books like this perfect one. I loved reading about Taylor's past. Even when it was so awful and heartbreaking. I just wanted more and more and more. I might be a bit awful for that.

The book is from Taylor's point of view. She is also reading this manuscript by Hannah, though. So we also get a few pages from the point of view of five other teens. Felt like we got too little. I adored reading about them. Webbs. Jude. Fitz. Narnie. Tate. They seemed so amazing. And what happened to them all was awful and it killed me and I just wanted even more. I loved reading about them. About all the things they did. About their romance and just everything. They were the perfect five. So amazing.

Another thing I kind of really liked in this book was the small things that made me think of other books. Like Chairman Meow, which makes me think of Magnus from City of Bones. <3 That fills me with love. I also liked the mention of Home and Away. Which I kind of watch. A bit. Norway is a couple of years behind, though, but I do know of a John Palmer, which is the name of a principal in this book ;p Also. Did I mention yet that I adore Melina? Because I do. I really, really do. Must read more books by her.

Everything about this book was perfect. Writing, story, tragedy. There are funny moments. Serious moments. Sad moments. There is also romance. Which I loved so much. It's sweet and perfect. I, of course, wanted more. Like I always do. And I very, very much want a sequel to this book. I know that there doesn't have to be one, but I don't want it to end. I want more. I also wasn't entirely pleased with the ending, cause I never support separations :p The ending was also perfect, I don't want to change it.

You must read Jellicoe Road. You must read it because it is perfect. It was so much more than I thought it would be. The summary doesn't give it justice. It's even more perfect. This book has it all. It made me cry. It's beautiful. And I cannot wait to re-read it. To read my favorite Jonah moments. Which there are many of. You really must read this book. It's so, so good. Now I must buy all the editions <3

"Because being part of him isn't just anything. It's kind of everything."

THE WARD BY JORDANA FRANKEL

Goodreads Description:

Sixteen-year-old Ren is a daredevil mobile racer who will risk everything to survive in the Ward, what remains of a water-logged Manhattan. To save her sister, who is suffering from a deadly illness thought to be caused by years of pollution, Ren accepts a secret mission from the government: to search for a freshwater source in the Ward, with the hope of it leading to a cure.

However, she never expects that her search will lead to dangerous encounters with a passionate young scientist; a web of deceit and lies; and an earth-shattering mystery that’s lurking deep beneath the water’s rippling surface.

Jordana Frankel’s ambitious debut novel and the first in a two-book series, The Ward is arresting, cinematic, and thrilling—perfect for fans of Scott Westerfeld or Ann Aguirre.

Another new book :D I think this one sounds amazing. What drew me to it was the cover. The cover is stunning. And I do adore covers like this one ;) And yeah. The summary is amazing, to be honest. I do love Dystopia books. And The Ward sounds so good. Really hoping I will like it; that the writing will be good :) I hope so. And I'm hoping the romance will be amazing :D Hih. I do adore a great romance.

Cover Reveal: Of Triton by Anna Banks

Today I'm sharing the cover for Of Triton by Anna Banks with you all :D And I must say that it is gorgeous. So pretty and perfect. Love it a whole lot. Of Triton is the sequel to Of Poseidon. Which I kind of loved. The story was perfect. I just had some issues with a few romance things that I did not approve of :\ But I'm pretty sure I won't have any issues with this sequel :D I cannot wait to read it. Hoping it will be perfect, like the cover. <3 Isn't it just so perfect? May 28th yet? :D What do you think of the cover?

In this sequel to OF POSEIDON, Emma has just learned that her mother is a long-lost Poseidon princess, and now struggles with an identity crisis: As a Half-Breed, she’s a freak in the human world and an abomination in the Syrena realm below. Syrena law states that all Half- Breeds should be put to death.

As if that’s not bad enough, her mother’s reappearance among the Syrena turns the two kingdoms—Poseidon and Triton—against one another. Which leaves Emma with a decision to make: Should she comply with Galen’s request to keep herself safe and just hope for the best? Or should she risk it all and reveal herself—and her Gift—to save a people she’s never known?

Review: The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken

It took me a while to read this book. I wanted to read it and love it, I really did. But it was so hard to fall in love with this book. I love the cover, really do, so pretty. And it does fit in with the book as well, which was good. I also found the summary to be pretty awesome. So I was excited to read this book. And while it was very amazing, and a bit unique, I just failed to fall in love with it. A bit sad about that, actually. But still. :)

The writing is good. Not perfect, but not bad either :) I liked that. The characters are kind of awesome as well. And while I liked them very much, I still didn't love this book. But I liked Ruby. And Liam. And Chubs. And maybe Zu. Just didn't think that they were written well enough. But that's probably just my issue with this book. I'm sure others will love it a lot more than I did :D Because it is exciting, full of action. And a great plot. And some cute characters. Too little romance, though.

I did enjoy this book. I did. At least a little bit. So it might be a three and a half star. Maybe. I just didn't love it. Which kind of sucked. But anyway! What I did like about it was the plot. It's special and kind of awesome. I liked that just one day every child changed. For those above the age of 8. They got different. They started having powers. Things they could do. And yeah. That was all kinds of amazing. I liked that plot twist a lot. And I even liked that goddamn crazy place they got sent to. I mean, yes, it was awful. So, so awful. It hurt my heart a lot. But it was also perfect. Enjoyed that. But yeah. I didn't enjoy everything in this book :\

This is the story of Ruby. She got sent to this camp six years ago, when she was ten. There is a reason for why she was sent there. And it's a bit heartbreaking, but could have been better, I think. I still liked it, though. Everyone is afraid of these children. So they all send them to these camps, where they are supposed to get better, healthy. And I kind of understood that. But yeah. It was awful. But also pretty amazing. I do love a lot of pain. There is so many people in Ruby's camp. Many hundreds of kids.

We don't stay long in the camps, though. Just about 80 pages. But I liked reading about it, and I kind of wished the book had been from that place all the time. Would have liked it more, I think ;p A lot of awful things happened there. Won't spoil it, because I did like reading about it :) I liked reading about Ruby. I did. I just didn't love her. She was a bit dumb. And not just because she have been locked up for six years. Although I felt like she was too "smart" to have been gone from the real world for six year.

I mean, she knew the name of every car she saw on the outside of the camp. That annoyed me. And she knew many complicated words as well, and I don't think any ten year old would, or would remember after being gone for six year. It isn't a bit deal, but yeah, it annoyed me a bit. Still. I enjoyed Ruby. She has this power. And while I thought her power was amazing, I kind of hated her for having it, since she didn't do anything about it. She didn't even try. She just felt sorry for herself :p Did not approve.

But anyway! I did actually like her a bit :) We also get to know this guy called Liam. And I'm pretty sure I liked him. Just, well, I didn't fall in love with him, and that sucked. He could have been done amazingly. But he wasn't. First, on the same page, they call him Liam. Then Lee. Makes me think there is two different people. I liked the name Liam, though ;p I just didn't think he was written very well. He was a bit boring. And the romance could have been there, but it wasn't, and it made me upset.

The romance in this book is very little. Because Ruby is afraid and blah blah blah. It just annoyed me a whole lot :\ I'm sorry for being so negative. But yeah. I must be honest, and I didn't like it much. She and Liam could have been amazing together, though. And there is a little romance between them. But it's small, and it kind of sucked. It could have been so much more. Then, of course, kind of a love triangle. The other reason for me not liking this book much. So yeah. Down to a three star now :p

We get to meet this guy called Clancy. I think it was. He's kind of a love interest. I mean, Ruby spends A WHOLE MONTH in his goddamn bedroom on his goddamn bed with him alone. She doesn't see Liam at all in all that time. I hated it. And she thinks this new guy is the most attractive person ever and blaah. Heh. I just didn't like at all. She doesn't kiss him though, but he kisses her. Assaults her. And yeah. I hated it. Hated her a bit for it, because she wanted it, she says. Ugh. I did not like.

Anyway. There is other characters in this book that I did like a bit. Like Chubs. He was awesome. Well, okay, I didn't like him that much in the beginning, because he wasn't written right either, at least not to me. Sigh. But I did like him. He was sweet, and protective. But then this ending happened, and it wasn't fair, and I hated it. Ugh. Then there was Zu. I liked her a bit. But she was a bit weird as well. But she was cute and kind, but we didn't get to know her nearly enough. I didn't approve of that part at all.

Meh. I feel like my review is all negative things :\ I'm sorry about that. But not really. Because I do like being honest about how I feel about books. And yeah. I did not like this book. Okay, I did enjoy it a bit, and I will be reading the sequel, but I did not love it, and I doubt I will re-read it. But still. The plot is good. And I somehow enjoyed the writing. And I do think others will love this book, I just didn't. So you should give it a try :) Because it is good, kind of, and I mostly liked it ;p Bad ending, though.

~

Update July 7th 2013: I had to change my rating for this book from a three star to a two star. Why? Because while it has been a while since I read it, I just realized that I was not being honest when rating it. I did not enjoy it as much as I claimed with my three star rating. And because of that I had to change it. Because I like being honest, and giving this a star more than it deserve is not being honest. It is officially a two star for me, because I can’t even remember much of the story, and I would not ever re-read the book. I’m sorry, but not really, because you can’t love every book.

Best Books of 2012

Today I'm sharing my Best Books of 2012. My list is of 24 books. Review: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

I have had this book for many months. But because I'm a coward I didn't read it until now. I was still afraid, though. With good reason. This book is heartbreaking. It's so sad. But only very near the ending. And it's so damn good that you cannot not love it. The Fault in Our Stars is a book about love. And it's perfect. It's also a book about cancer and living with it. Which is all kinds of awful. But it's also a happy book with lots of young love and happiness and it's all just so good and I never wanted it to end. But it did. So heartbreakingly good and gut wrenching.

This is the story of Hazel. A sixteen year old girl with cancer. I won't try to explain her sickness, because I would most likely suck at it. But know that it is awful, so awful. But it's also so perfect and so well written and I loved it a lot. It sort of gave life to the character, even if the cancer is slowly killing her. It's so interesting to read about. She has to have this oxygen tank on at all times, and while that sort of disturbed me a bit, I also loved it. It's unique, and it just made me love her a lot more.

There is a lot of pain in my heart from reading this book. A lot of pain. First there is pain for Hazel. She seems so sad all the time. And I totally get that. But she's also pretty happy, and I loved that. But she does everything for her parents, and that was sad. But I understand it so well. I actually loved her parents. They love her so much. And it's just so awful for them as well. Her dad is crying all the time. But he's also so caring and kind and I just adored him. Same with her mom. They were awesome.

This is also a book about Augustus. Hazel meets him at this cancer kid support group. He's deadly handsome. And just so amazing. Most likely my favorite character. It's just impossible not to love him. He's perfect. Gorgeous, kind, funny. Everything you want in a boy. He's also a great friend, perfect boyfriend. Another I loved in this book was Isaac, he's best friend. He's adorable. He also gets his heart broken. It was awful. But also so amazing. He was just really fun to read about. And I enjoyed that a lot.

There is a lot of sick kids in this book. But it isn't all about sickness. But those sick people we do get to know.. it's, well, heartbreaking. I don't have another word for it. There is just so much pain. But it's so good and I couldn't get enough of it all. I loved reading about Isaac's cancer. And Hazel's. And mostly Augustus's. It was just so bad. But so perfect. And I have no words for how good this book was. I'm doing my best to describe it, but I'm pretty sure I'm failing. I need a sequel to this book. Truly.

The plot in this book is amazing. Hazel is such an amazing girl. She loves this book that she's read so many times. She gets Gus to read it, and he falls in love with it as well. And I loved that so much. It was adorable. She has tried so many times to get in contact with the author of that book. And it's kind of amazing. There is even a trip to Amsterdam. Best trip ever. But also most sad one. I hated that author. Really hated him. But it was so good to read about. And it was done so well and I loved it lots.

The romance in this book is so great. It's sweet and amazing and just so perfect. I loved it so much. First there isn't much, I mean, there is flirting from the beginning which was awesome. But Hazel is trying to keep Gus from being hurt if she dies. But she gets over that. And then everything gets so much better. And it's all so good. And the romance is so sweet and I just wanted more and more. But we also got so much, and I will always cherish it. Swooning a bit right now, just thinking about it.

I'm not sure what else to say about this plot. It's so good. So much amazing things happens. So much heartbreak and painful and awful things. And it is all so good. And I just loved every part of this book. I know I will re-read The Fault in Our Stars so many times. It is a book that must be read and loved a whole bunch of times. You need to read it. Seriously. This is not a book to be missed. While it is full of heartbreak, it is also so good and happy and sweet and it all makes so much sense at the end. Well, okay, I still hated that thing at the end. But it's so good that you can't really dislike it too much.

There is this tiny thing that I will spoil. I will not spoil how this book ends. What it ends with. How it happens. But I will say that something happens. And ah. It's awful. But anyway. I kind of new it before starting this book, so I'm hoping that you do too. I was sure there would be a death in this book. And there is. And it's awful. But it also surprised me a whole lot. And it was even worse than I had thought. And it's so unfair. But it also beyond perfect and I just can't decide how to feel about it. I want a sequel to this book. I really do. But there should not be one. I just need to know what happens to this one character. I also want deleted scenes. Many of those. Pretty please. <3

Once you start reading this book you cannot stop. I had been planning on just reading a little bit of it today. I didn't know it would be so addictive. But it was. And I had to finish it right away. So glad that I did. This book is just perfection. The writing is amazing. The characters are perfect, well, flawed, but still so perfect and so well written. There wasn't a single thing to hate in this book. Okay. That isn't really true. There was this thing happening at the end. So heartbreaking and unfair. So much sobbing.

Goodreads - Buy it

01/05/13 UPDATE: I have written a book recommendation for this book. Read it here. With teasers and some fan art from other people. I had to re-read it after just a few weeks :)

Waiting on Wednesday #62

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

DARK TRIUMPH BY R.L. LAFEVERS

Goodreads Description:

Sybella arrives at the convent’s doorstep half mad with grief and despair. Those that serve Death are only too happy to offer her refuge—but at a price. Naturally skilled in both the arts of death and seduction, the convent views Sybella as one of their most dangerous weapons.

But those assassin’s skills are little comfort when the convent returns her to a life that nearly drove her mad. Her father’s rage and brutality are terrifying, and her brother’s love is equally monstrous. And while Sybella is a weapon of justice wrought by the god of Death himself, He must give her a reason to live. When she discovers an unexpected ally imprisoned in the dungeons, will a daughter of Death find something other than vengeance to live for?

This heart-pounding sequel to Grave Mercy serves betrayal, treachery, and danger in equal measure, bringing readers back to fifteenth century Brittany and will keep them on the edge of their seats.

Hardcover, 400 pages
Expected publication: April 2nd 2013 by Houghton Mifflin Books for Children
Pre-Order here.

I cannot wait for this book! I loved the first one; Grave Mercy. Dark Triumph is told from a different characters point of view, but I don't mind that :) Cause I seem to remember that I did like Sybella as well ;p Anyway. I adore Fantasy novels, and I cannot wait to read this book. Especially since I loved the first book by this author that I read. And I cannot wait to read more from this world she has created :)
What are you waiting for?

Review: 'Til the World Ends by Julie Kagawa

This is a short review for Julie's story, Dawn of Eden, which is a short story from 'Til the World Ends. I have loved her book, The Immortal Rules, ever since it came out this April. This story is a prequel to it. And it's all kinds of amazing. Not as good as the long book, but it's still amazing and is a great read. I enjoyed the writing a lot, like I always do with Julie's work. I also liked the characters a whole lot. And yeah. The plot is beyond amazing. It's unique and special. And so well done.

Dawn of Eden is about Kylie and Ben. Kylie is a doctor, working at this clinic just months after the Red Lung virus started to spread. A lot of people are already dead. She's working with a few other people, trying to keep sick people healthy. It isn't going very well, though. Since most of earth is dying away. And ah. This sickness is kind of awful and all kinds of fascinating. I enjoy reading about it so much, which I probably shouldn't, lol :)

Suddenly this guy shows up at her clinic, with his sick friend. Kylie stitch them both up, but it's not going well for the hurt guy, Nathan. We also get to know Ben a bit. He does seem so great. A bit tortured, but I liked that a lot ;) If you have read The Immortal Rules, you probably know what happens next. But I will share it, still. Something awful is happning to Nathan. Suddenly he's dead, and he's smelling so bad, so fast. And then he wakes up. Changed. White eyes, sunken skin. He kills one of the people working with Kylie. And it's kind of awful but also so amazing. I might be a fan of a lot of death and blood. Which there is in this.

This is where we get to know about the Rabids. I loved reading about them so much in The Immortal Rules, and I loved reading about them in this one as well. They are an amazing plot twist. We don't really see any vampires in this book, but that's okay. I loved reading about Kylie and Ben. They make a great couple. Some might call it insta-love or whatever, but I felt like it could happen like that with anyone. I loved it a lot. I kind of thought this would be a YA book, but it wasn't. And that was amazing.

I don't really read Adult books, but I knew I needed to read this one because of my love for The Immortal Rules. And I'm so glad I did. The plot is amazing. Won't spoil more of it. Just that we get more of the Rabids. And we even get to see Kanin a bit! Ahh. Which was totally awesome, to be honest. But yeah. This book is amazing. Exciting and sweet. There is some steamy romance, and I liked it a lot. This is a must read for every fan of The Immortal Rules. Think you must read it either way, though :)

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Harlequin for the chance to read and review this book early. <3 There is three stories in this book. But I only read the first one, Dawn of Eden, which is about 130 pages long. Maybe I'll read the others at a later time, but not yet. I'm very happy with this story, though. And I cannot wait to read more by Julie. Super excited for the second book, The Eternity Cure. <3

Cover Reveal: The Eternity Cure by Julie Kagawa

Today I'm sharing the new cover for The Eternity Cure by Julie Kagawa! It's the sequel to The Immortal Rules, which I loved so, so much. I cannot wait for this sequel. Wants it right away. I'm pretty sure it will be all kinds of epic :) Also, I need so much more of Zeke. <3 Sigh. Anyway! We now have a cover for this book :D And I'm not sure what to think about it. Because it's a new cover design, so we also get a new cover of The Immortal Rules. I do have to admit that the old one is my favorite. But, these new covers are pretty :) And I'm pretty sure they will be gorgeous in person. I cannot wait to own it. Also! Added the summary. Which I must admit is pretty awesome. But yeah. I'm worried. I will not be happy at all if there is a love triangle.. Really hope there won't be one. Anyway. Is is April 23rd yet? I need this book. <3 Also, I do like the cover a lot :) It really is pretty. What do you think of the cover? :)

Review: Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes

It's been months since I first knew of this book. I wanted it right away. Because the cover is gorgeous. I love it. And it was a Fantasy book. I'm pretty sure Fantasy books are my favorite books. They are just perfect. And when I read the summary I wanted this book even more. But I didn't request an ARC of it, because I wasn't sure if I would be able to read it because of all the different main characters. I was wrong. This book was perfect. Heartbreakingly perfect. I loved it with all my heart. I wish I had read it sooner, but I also wish I hadn't read it yet, because I cannot survive a year waiting for the sequel.

Falling Kingdoms is amazing. The writing is stunning. Which was perfect, because I'm a sucker for good writing. All the characters are amazing as well. I fell in love with every one of them. Except for Aron, lol :) The story is incredible. I loved this book from the very beginning. It starts with deaths. And while they are awful, I have always liked reading about deaths. They are also done so well. Everything in this book is done so good. There was just one thing that I disliked, and it isn't even a big issue. I don't know how to describe my love for this book. But I will try. Starting with the characters.

The first kingdom is Auranos, the Southern kingdom. Where one of the main characters lives. Cleo short for Cleiona. I had seen that many people didn't like her. Once I started reading I didn't understand why. Cleo might have been my favorite character in this book. Sure, she's a bit young and stupid, but I found her adorable and likeable. Didn't like that she snuck out so many times, but I didn't dislike her for it. Cleo is a strong person. A strong princess. And I liked her a whole lot. Can't wait for more of her.

Cleo has a sister, Emilia. Who I adored. She is mostly ill in this book, but we get to know her still. And I liked her a lot. We also get to know Mira and Nic, both who I also liked a lot. Nic seemed to be in love with Cleo. But she just consider him her best friend. Thank god. Hih. Then there is Aron. My god. I hated him. He does the first killing in this book. The one that changes everything. He's also a drunk. And I just disliked him so much. He isn't a kind person. He's also engaged to Cleo. Do not approve.

Good thing, though, is that Cleo doesn't like him at all. She hates him. Thank god. But she can't do anything about the engagement because he knows this secret of hers. That is the one thing I disliked in this book. Her secret. I shouldn't care about it. But it still bothers me when I read about it in other books as well :p I'm just weird like that. But I also understood it. Maybe. Then there is Theon. Cleo's personal guard. I loved him. There is a small romance between him and Cleo. And it was so sweet and amazing and I just wished there had been so much more. It didn't end very well. Heartbroken forever.

The second kingdom is Paelsia, the Middle kingdom. There we meet another main character, Jonas. And, well, I kind of fell in love with Jonas early on. He's pretty amazing. He's very angry, though, and I'm not sure I approved of everything he did. But I have hope for him. He's full of grief because his brother Tomas was murdered; by Aron. And it's all so awful. But I loved reading about Jonas. While he seems like an asshole at times, I did find him to be kind and sweet other times. Can't wait for more of him.

We get to know a lot from that kingdom. While Auranos is a wealthy land, full of riches and green grass, Paelsia is almost dead. The people is poor, the grass is dead. Pretty sure the whole land there will be dead very soon. It's an awful place to live. We also get to know some characters. Liked Jonas best friend, Brion. Hated the chief of this kingdom. He was kind of awful. And so stupid. I did not approve of him. But I did love reading about Eirene. She was a very sweet old woman, and an interesting plot twist.

The third kingdom is Limeros, the Northern kingdom. There we meet the last two main characters in this book. Magnus and Lucia. Brother and sister. Prince and Princess. This kingdom is my least favorite of them. The ruler is the King of Blood. He's goddamn awful. I hated him so much. He did so many cruel things. I also didn't approve of the way he ruled his kingdom. No fun for anyone. No books, no singing. Sounded awful. And cold. But I did love many other things about this kingdom. I really did. Kind of :)

Like Magnus. At first I loved him so much. Such a great character. I loved reading about him. I also kind of loved his forbidden feelings for his sister. He just loved her so much. And I did find him to be really sweet. But I hated the secret about the scar on his face.. Shudders. I did like reading about Magnus and Lucia. But is also broke my heart so much. Because, well, she doesn't love him. Not like he loves her. And I kind of just wanted them together.. but she cares for him so much as a brother. It was so sweet.

My feelings for Magnus started to change though, towards the ending of the book. He did some awful thing. He killed a person I loved so much. It was his first kill, and I felt awful about it, but that doesn't make the person he killed come back to life. Sniffs. After his first kill he started getting worse. So much colder. And ahh. I did not approve at all. Magnus changed. There was a war, and he killed so many people. And it seems to have changed him so much. But I'm hoping. I'm hoping he gets better.

Then there is Lucia. She's a special character. She's sweet and kind and all kinds of adorable. She's also got a secret. I won't spoil it, but it's pretty amazing. And I loved reading about it. But it also gives me fears. I don't want her to ruin any more things in the second book. She mustn't. But I have hope. Because she is so sweet. And I did love reading about her. And while I know it will probably never ever happen, I really want her to start having feelings for Magnus. They would be so sweet together.

Falling Kingdoms is about so many people. I thought it would be too much for me to read. But it wasn't. Everything was perfect. Every character. This book is also about magic. Kind of. We get to learn about some legends, and some sorceress. It's pretty exciting too :) I'm sure we'll get to know a lot more about the magic in the sequel. But I did love what we did get to learn in this one. Just want more and more. We also get to know about some Watchers; just not enough. I need more of those too.

This book is an epic fantasy journey. It is so perfect. I could not stop reading it. I never wanted it to end. And oh. The ending is a killer. Big cliffhanger, kind of. I might survive waiting a year for the next one, but I do not want to. I want the sequel right away. Falling Kingdoms is full of heartbreak. Maybe too much. And not enough. There is so many deaths. Of people I loved. Never wanted them to die. But it was also so good. Written so well. And I do like reading heartbreaking books. Just didn't think it would hurt so much. But yeah. Falling Kingdoms is full of pain. And it's so fantastic. I loved it.

I'm so glad I read this book. I cannot wait to read it again and again. It really was perfect. I'm dying to read the sequel. Hoping it will be out soon. If you haven't read Falling Kingdoms yet, I really suggest that you do so. Because it's perfect. And you'll fall in love with it. With the story. The writing. The adorable characters. There is just so much to love in this book. And I need everyone to read it. It's perfect.

Review: The Madman's Daughter by Megan Shepherd

I must admit that I had never given this book a second glance until I saw it on Edelweiss. I then read the summary, and I thought it sounded amazing. So I requested it. And I got accepted! I knew I had to read it right away. And today I finally started it. Could not stop reading. Every word was perfect. The writing is stunning in this book. The characters are amazing. The plot is perfect. There is so much happening in The Madman's Daughter. And I loved it all. Well, almost everything. But even so. This book was perfect, and I'm super excited to read it again and again. A book that must be read again.

I'm not sure how to write this review of mine. Hoping the words will just flow out of me. We'll see. The Madman's Daughter was perfect. It starts really good as well, which doesn't always happen with books these days. The main character is Juliet, a sixteen year old girl. She used to be rich, but then this scandal with her dad happened. He has now been gone for six years, her mom is dead, Juliet lives at this poor house with 20 other girls. She works as a cleaning maid at the college, where this professor is always trying to sexually assault her. I did like the other cleaning women, though :)

Juliet isn't happy. Not really. She has one friend, Lucy, who I actually really liked. She was a true friend, and really sweet. Then there was that goddamn awful professor. He's just there in the early beginning, but I hated him. He doesn't assault her, not really, but it's still kind of awful to read about. But I did love what Juliet did to him. She's fierce. And strong. And all kinds of amazing. A bit mad as well. Just perfect. She does something awful, so awful that she loses her job and have to leave town.

That's where Montgomery comes in. Juliet ends up finding out that her father is alive; but he hasn't contacted her at all these past six years. He lives out in this remote Island, which takes many many weeks to get to by boat. Won't say how, but she ends up meeting Montgomery and his friend Balthasar. Montgomery was her childhood best friend. He was their servant, and he disappeared when her father did. She only has fond memories of him, though, and I'm glad for that. Very, very happy about that.

Montgomery is two years older than Juliet, and he isn't as she remember from when they were kids. He's taller and broader, more muscles. And deadly handsome. I loved reading about how she reacted to him. It wasn't overdone. Even if he is so handsome and amazing. It is written very well, and I loved that. I could see why Juliet was attracted to him. But she also cares for him, as a friend, even if she hasn't seen him in six years. And yeah. He is my favorite character in this book. Swoons. He's amazing.

This is where the plot starts. Montgomery is still working for her father, has been for all the years, over at the Island. Juliet decides to go back there with him. It is a long boat ride. I hate long trips. Hih. But it was awesome to read about. And I loved the slow romance between Juliet and Montgomery. Even if nothing happened. Damn it. And then, of course, we were introduced to the love triangle. This new dude showed up from the water, half dead. Edward. I disliked him a lot. Might have liked him a tiny bit.

I know that some people might end up adoring him. Maybe. But I starting loving Montgomery. And I'm sticking with him. It might be a bit of insta-love, but not for Juliet. Edward seemed to be falling in love with her right away. Was a bit weird. And while I normally hate love triangles more than anything, it wasn't that bad in this book. I will be spoiling a few things. But it has nothing to do with the plot, not really, so you should read what I say next, if you want to know important bits about the romance :)

It is a love triangle. Somewhat. Juliet really likes Montgomery. And he likes her as well. But then Edward showed up. And he likes her as well. She's attracted to him, and she wants him. Kind of. They end up kissing. But he kisses her, and she pushes him away. Liked that a lot. Except for what happened after. He held her close while they slept. She didn't mind. Then she spied on him naked in a waterfall. I did not approve. Because Montgomery wasn't first with the kissing, or the naked part :\ Ugh. Did not like.

But it wasn't really that bad. Well.. okay, maybe. Still giving this book a five star. Because I did feel that Juliet was certain about who she wanted. Who she loved. Even if she was attracted to someone else as well. But it is also resolved by the ending. Hopefully. It better be. It seemed like it, thank god :) So enough about that. The plot in this book is perfect. Truly perfect. Creepy and scary. Horrifying and exciting. I loved every part of the plot in this book. Even wished it had been more awful. Hih.

I won't say that much about it. But I must mention this one thing. Juliet ends up at the Island, where she meets her father. Who truly is a madman. But I sort of liked him. He created some amazing things, even if it was cruel and heatless. I won't say what he creates, but it's amazing. And horrifying. But also so extremely perfect. I loved it so much. And it has such a huge part of this book, which I adored. I also liked getting to read about her dad. He was just so cold and kind of amazing. He's a great villain.

We also get to know so many other amazing characters in this book. Some scary ones. But I might have loved them all, and I felt so extremely sorry for most of them. Sniffs. But it was also so perfect. Balthasar is amazing. So kind and sweet. Adored him. I also adored Alice. She was nice and sweet and so adorable. And.. yeah.. Montgomery. He's perfect. Kind, sweet, protective. I loved him a lot. Wished there had been so much more of him, though. But he was so perfect in every moment. Adored him.

There is so much happening in The Madman's Daughter. I loved it all. Great action. Amazing romance. Perfect characters. The best story. Everything was just so good. But the ending.. The ending was cruel. And heartbreaking and a cliffhanger. I'm nervous about the sequel.. it must be good! Ahh. There mustn't be more heartbreak. Do not know how I will survive waiting thirteen months for the next one. Need it right away! Also cannot wait to get my hardcover of this perfect book. Will be so pretty.

I cannot bring myself to give this book a four star, even if I did have a few issues with the triangle thing. And the heartbreaking ending. I just loved it too much. The writing. The characters. The world. Every single thing. The Madman's Daughter is a book that you must read. It has it all. And it is perfect. You really need to read it. Thank you so much to Balzer + Bray and Edelweiss for accepting me to read and review this book. <3
