Review: The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater

This has been my seventh time reading The Scorpio Races. It is the sixth time that I blog about it, as I didn't do it on my third read, which breaks my heart a bit. Hmph. But even so, I have read this book seven times. And I know I will read it again and again after this. I wish to read this book once a year. Though I always feel like reading it more often than that even. Because this is the best book. My love for it will never go away. I will never not cry at the ending of it. I will never not love it the very most.

It is the first day of November and so, today, someone will die.

I have written so much about this book already, before. I will probably just end up repeating myself a lot. But I can't help it. I can't not share how much I love this book. And why I love it. And how I will never stop loving it. Sigh. Because this book is perfection. I love every single thing about The Scorpio Races. Okay, well, I'm a bit heartbroken that there isn't a sequel. But I hope it will come one day. And there will be a movie. And it seems like it will be soon. I simply cannot wait for that. I'm so nervous and excited.

The only thing is, the more I see him and Corr together, the more I think of
how unbearable it would be for Sean to lose him. But we can't both win.

The writing in this precious book is simply gorgeous. It never fails to amaze me. I just adore Maggie Stiefvater so much. I have loved all the books I have read by her so far. She's amazing. But yes. The Scorpio Races is my favorite book of hers, always. And Sean Kendrick is my favorite character that she has written. Probably my favorite character from everywhere. I love him the very most. Sigh. Everything about this book is perfection to me. Reading it again and again just makes me love it more and more.

"I don't think I'll stop you," I say. "I think that you will cut my horse and then when
you come out of that stall, I will use this to cut your heart out and hand it to you."

This is a book about horses. But it is more about the characters. I don't even like horses, and I loved this the very most. I loved Dove. And I adored Corr the very most. He is the most amazing horse. I loved how different he was. I loved how much he loved Sean. I loved how adorable he was, despite the fact that he can kill anyone. Basically, I loved everything in this book. The ending is still the most heartbreaking thing. It always makes me cry. But it is also the most perfect. Hopeful. Heartbreaking.

In the middle of all of this, as Sean slips out of his jacket, he looks over his shoulder at me
and he smiles at me, just a glancing, faint thing before he turns back to Tommy. I'm quite happy
for the smile, because Dad told me once you should be grateful for the gifts that are the rarest.

Reading about Puck and Sean again made my heart so happy. They are the most amazing characters. There isn't much romance, but there is a little, and it is the most sweet thing I have read. They are perfect for each other. And I adore them both so much. Sigh. I need a sequel. Hmph. There are so many characters in this book that I love. Finn. Holly. Dory Maud. All of them, really. Well, I hate Mutt with everything in me, and I'm still angry at Gabe, but I loved reading about all of them so much, even so.

"You leave nothing to assumption," Dory Maud says. "You swallow her
with your eyes. I'm surprised there's any of her left for the rest of us to see."

I'm not going to say much about this book. Because I can't. I just love it the most. The story is the most amazing. Reading about the killer water horses is so stunning and a bit terrifying too. I loved every second. The growing friendship between Puck and Sean is gorgeous. They are amazing people. I adore how Puck is poor, yet she isn't annoying poor. I just wanted to feed her and Finn. Sniffs. I love how Sean lives pretty badly, yet he never complains. I love how he just wanted to own Corr. Such a stunning story.

I say, "I will not be your weakness, Sean Kendrick."
Now he looks at me. He says, very softly, "It's late for that, Puck."

If you still haven't read this book I'm a bit angry with you. Because this is a must read one. And everyone needs to have read and loved it, like I have. This book means the most to me. And I'm so thrilled by how much I love it. Sniffs. It is simply the best. I would love to know what you all think of this one too, so please share below. I'm very much in love with my collection of copies of this one. A few personalized copies too. Yay. I just, I wish there were more fanart from this book. If you have any, please share :)

The Hunger Games: The Movies

These past few days I have been watching The Hunger Games movies. The first two was a rewatch, as I had only seen them both once before. And I finally watched the first Mockingjay movie as well before seeing number two in the cinema. I just wanted to share a little bit about my thoughts for these movies :) I wish to start by saying that I loved the books a lot. Like a lot, a lot. But it has also been way more than four years since I last read them, not since before I started blogging and using Goodreads. As I'm nervous about reading them again, because of my hatred of love triangles. Yet I'm so curious too. But even so, I remember a lot from these books. I have lots of thoughts about the movies. Will share a bit.

"You know, you could live a thousand lifetimes and not deserve him."

I'm not going to talk a lot about these movies. I just want to share a little. I thought the books were better. Yet I liked the movies a lot, more than the Divergent movie. Even though I liked that book more a while back. Hmm. I felt like The Hunger Games movies weren't done that well, yet they weren't that bad either. The only thing I don't like about these movies are the actors. I can't stand their versions of the characters. Sigh. And that makes me so sad. I wanted to love them all. But I can't stand the way they look, lol. Just. Josh as Peeta was such a bad choice. I just do not like the look of him, sadly. Peeta in my head is taller and cuter, lol. Though I didn't like the actors, I did feel like they did a good job.

"You love me. Real or not real?" "Real."

I don't know how to describe what I feel about these movies. I didn't love them. But I liked them a lot. What they did, though, was make me want to re-read the books. Ahh. And I'm too nervous about that. But I will probably do it in a few weeks anyway, lol. Maybe. I'm not sure yet. I just really want to. Above you see a few quotes. They are my favorites ones from this series. Katniss will never deserve Peeta, at least in my eyes. She treated him so badly, and he loved her so much even so. It bothered me. That last quote always makes my heart happy, though. But hmm. The movies. It annoyed me that so much from the movie was taken away. Like many of the most brutal parts. The poor stylists that were locked up in Mockingjay. The big hole in the ground at the end of Mockingjay, all those dead people. And lots more.

But I did like these movies a lot. I just. I felt like so much weren't included. I didn't like how we didn't really see Johanna at all in Mockingjay Part 2. I hated that they cut away their weeks of training. I wanted to see that. I hated how Katniss ended up in the Capitol, because it didn't happen like that, and so, yeah, that bothered me. I hated how they never included Peeta's family in these movies. He was always alone. That wasn't true. He had a family. I mean, sure, they weren't the kindest, but they should have been included. Hmph. Anyway. I just wanted to share some of my thoughts about these movies :) I'm glad I saw them all. Though, lol, I watched them with my sister, and she said it ended differently than what she thought. She thought Katniss would choose the other boy. HAH. As if, lol. I would not have seen it if that was the case. Haha. Anyway. Have you seen these movies yet? Have you read the books?

My favorite piece of The Hunger Games fan art.

Review: The Steep and Thorny Way by Cat Winters

I have wanted to read this book for so long now. I knew I would love it. And I did. Which makes me so thrilled. I have read and loved three books by Cat Winters before this one, so happy that I loved this fourth book by her as well. And I simply cannot wait to read more books by this precious author. She is the best :)

I was a tiny bit nervous about reading this book, considering how much I loved all of Cat's other books, I worried a bit that I wouldn't love this one as much. As I always worry. But I hadn't needed to worry at all. Because I loved this book the most. It was so stunning. I'm so happy with how much I loved it. Ack.

The writing is just so beautiful. I love how Cat writes her books. And how she writes her characters too. Because oh how I loved all the characters in this one. The main girl, Hanalee, is all kinds of adorable. I loved reading about her. About her life. About her family. I adored getting to know her more. She was truly such an amazing sixteen year old girl. Sigh. I loved that this book was from her point of view. But sobs. I'm a bit heartbroken that Cat only writes standalones. Because I want a sequel to this one so badly; like with all her previous books too. But especially for this one. I feel like I'm not done getting to know Hanalee. I want to know much more. About Hanalee. About Joe. About everything. I wish for a sequel the most.

Everything about this book was perfection. And I'm not sure what to share about it. Ack. It is much harder to talk about a book that I loved than a book I didn't love. Because I have nothing much to comment on about this one, lol. Because I loved everything. And that is just about all I feel like saying about it. Ack. But I shall try to write more. Because I want to give you all a reason to read this book. To love it like I did. If you already own it, you should not put off reading it. Read it now. And love it now.

I love that this book takes place in 1923. I must admit, I don't really know any history from before. Only what I have read in previous books by Cat, lol. So I didn't know anything about this time before reading this book. And I'm good with that. Because I learnt so much while I read this one. The time period was so amazing to read about. There was so much hate. It broke my heart. Yet it was pretty stunning to read about, so I loved it a lot as well. To be honest, though, I could not have lived in this time period. Ack.

I must say that there was one thing that made me a tiny bit sad. That there is no romance in this book. Okay, there is a romance in my mind, and there is a kiss, but it isn't the focus of the book. Which made me a bit sad. But I didn't mind too much, because this book was perfect even without romance. The characters were all so strong to read about. But yeah. I did ship Hanalee and Joe so badly. Ahh. The ending is a bit open. But hoping Cat might answers some of my questions about it. Fingers crossed :)

There are so many characters in this precious book. Okay, there isn't that many, but still a lot. I adored Hanalee the most. But I also adored Joe so much. He is a bit different as well. And he is so hurt because of it. It isn't fair. Sniffs. He was so kind, though. And awesome. Hanalee has this best friend, Fleur. She was all kinds of awesome. Not in the book much, but enough for me to love her lots. Her brother, though, Laurence, him I hated. He was awful. And I wish his ending had been brutal, lol. Just saying :)

I'm not going to talk about the other characters. Just that I was so excited to read about all of them. I sort of disliked most of them, hah, but some I really adored. Like, I grew to love Hanalee's family a lot, despite disliking them at first. There were two twin brothers that I hated more than anything. I wish they had had a bad ending too. Hmph. I shall just have to imagine it myself, lol. But good or bad, I loved reading about all the characters. I loved everything about this book. It was all exciting and interesting.

I'm not going to say anything about the plot, not really. Just that to me it was mostly about the friendship between Hanalee and Joe. About them trying to live their life without getting killed. About people being awful, yet Hanalee not breaking down. It was a beautiful book. With a beautiful story. I couldn't have loved it more than I did. The Steep and Thorny Way is one of a kind. It is such a stunning book. I loved it the very most. The characters are all incredible. The plot is exciting and heartbreaking.

Huge thank you to the publisher, Amulet Books, for accepting my Netgalley request to read this book early. Means the most to me. So glad that I have now read and loved it, hih. I just. I own precious ARC copies of all her books. But not this one. And I want a print ARC of it the very most. If anyone have it for trade, please let me know. I'm dying to add it to my collection :) This book was simply perfect. And I need you all to read it when it in March. You will not regret it. So excited to see what everyone thinks.

I wanted to do a cover reveal for this book. But I wasn't able to find a bigger version of it. Sigh. So just sharing all that I wrote about it below, hih :D So excited about this sequel. Yet a bit worried too :D I adored the first book, The Girl at Midnight. It was awesome. I loved reading about the characters and the plot. Ack. And oh, The Shadow Hour sounds so awesome. I just. I have some wishes for the romance, lol :D I think it will be awesome. And oh, this cover is SO PRETTY. I cannot wait to see it in person when I get my hardcover of it :D So gorgeous. Preview Review: Riders by Veronica Rossi

Today I'm sharing a preview review of Riders. As I can't post my full review until February. But I'm writing that one today too. Though I'm not sure what to say about this book at all. I wanted to love it to badly. I had been so excited for it for aaages. But when I read it, I didn't love it. And it breaks my heart so much.

First I do wish to say that I adore Veronica Rossi the most. She's an amazing author and person. And I loved her other books. But this one was just not for me. Not at all. I won't get into all the reasons for why in this preview. But I do wish to share a little bit. I had issues with the writing, and with the boy. Sad face.

But even though I didn't love this book, I did like it a bit as well. I'm giving it two stars. Mostly I liked a lot about the ending. That was the most exciting part for me. And then there is that cover. Sigh. Swoon. It is the most gorgeous thing. Though I didn't love this book, I will be buying a hardcover copy of it when it comes out. Because I adore how it looks. Thank you so much to Diana at Tor Books for letting me read Riders early via Netgalley. It meant the very most to me. I'm so sorry that I didn't love it. I tried to, I really did. But I just couldn't like it. But I think that others will enjoy it :) I'm excited to see what everyone thinks.

Review: Winter by Marissa Meyer

I don't know where to begin. I have waited so many years for this book. And it was everything I wanted it to be and more. I'm just sad that it is over. Sniffs. But, there will be Stars Above. And it will have short stories. And an epilogue. And I am dying for it to come out. Eeek. I need this epilogue. So excited for it.

Winter is so long. Over eight hundred pages. The pages are thin and the book is heavy. I love it. It looks so stunning. It took me a while to read this precious, but I don't mind. I love how long it was. I even wish it was even longer. Because it was perfection. It was everything I wanted. And it was heartbreaking. So good.

How do I even talk about this book without mentioning all the spoilers.. Ahh. I am not sure. But I shall try my best. Some things you probably knows already that would happen, so I don't count that as spoiling things. I shall just talk a bit about all the things that I loved about this precious book. Which is a lot. Because this book was perfect from the very first page until the end. I loved it so, so much. Best book. I'm so happy with how good this series have been. How perfect these books are. And how much I love them all. Ack. Marissa Meyer is my favorite author. I adore her the most. And I cannot wait to read even more amazing books by her. I can't describe how much I love these books. I do think these books are my favorite series. Sigh.

There is so much happening in this book. The plot is all kinds of amazing. And so much happens. And ahh. I was so nervous at all times. Because everything goes wrong with all the plans. And it was so heartbreaking to read about. Yet so amazing too, because I loved it as well. Most of this book takes place on Luna. With Cinder trying to get rid of Levana, trying to get the people to support her. It is a lot of work. And it was so interesting to read about. I loved getting to see Luna more. It seemed awesome.

"I have lived in fear of her my entire life," she continued. "If this is the only chance
I'm given to stand against her, then I have to take it. I don't want to hide.
I don't want to be afraid. And I don't want to be separated from you, ever again."

I love how this book is told from a lot of different point of views. It is never once annoying. And I loved all the different voices. These characters are amazing. Getting to know Winter more was so great. She is incredible. Yet so broken too, because she does not use her Lunar gifts. So she's a bit crazy. Well, a lot of crazy. But she's still herself. And she is adorable. And I loved her so much. And I just wanted the very best for her. Ack. So much heartbreak. Anyway. I adored Winter. And every single thing about her.

There was also a love interest for Winter. The very awesome Jacin. Whom we have sort of seen in all the books. Sometimes he annoyed me a little bit. But he was all kinds of swoony too. I loved how much he cared for Winter. How much he wanted to protect her. How complicated their relationship was. It was stunning to read about. They are way too adorable together. Ack. So cute. The relationship between Winter and Levana is not good. And it was so interesting to read about. Shudders. It was scary too.

There is a lot of stunning relationships in this book. A lot of amazing friendships. And I loved reading about them all so much. I love how close these characters have gotten. Sniffs. And then there are all the different romances. And oh my. Those are perfection. And stunning. And swoony. And I cannot. Marissa wrote them all so well. I loved every moment. Every stolen kiss. I still ship Cinder and Kai the most. But I adore everyone. So much. Winter and Jacin are all kinds of adorable. I loved reading about them both.

"Jacin," she said, with a shaky smile. "You must know. I cannot remember
a time when I didn't love you. I don't think such a time ever existed."

I cannot tell you how much I adore all the characters in this book. Cinder and Kai are my favorites. Because they are both all kinds of amazing. I cannot explain it better than that. I just adore them the most. But I also love Scarlet and Wolf to pieces too. So much bad happens with them in this book. I cannot. Heartbreak. It wasn't fair to Wolf. And it still hurts me. Yet it was so perfect and horrifying and I loved every moment. Despite my broken heart. Wolf's story is incredible. I loved reading it the most.

But I also love Thorne and Cress to pieces as well. I ship them so hard. And reading about them together is so much fun, as there is a little bit of drama there too. Loved it. They are just so cute. I loved how much Cress grew in this book. She's much more brave and awesome. I just. I adored every single character in this book. And I just don't want their stories to be over. Sniffs. I want more. I need more. The ending is amazing. And that's all I will say about it. But I want more, lol. I will always want more.

I'm so happy with how much I adored this final book. I haven't been able to say much in this review of mine. Because I'm a bit speechless with how much I adored this book. Which was a lot. The book is so long. Yet I don't have much to say. Most is spoilery, lol. I just. I loved every thing about this book. I loved how much fighting there was. I was heartbroken about some deaths. I loved how everything ended. Yet I still cannot fully believe that this story is done with. Now just dying for Stars Above to come in February.

I shall not say much more. I loved Winter the very most. The characters are the best. The writing is perfection. The story is heartbreaking and exciting and I loved every moment. I couldn't have asked for more in this final book. Winter was everything that I wanted it to be. The most perfect final book to a series. Also the most heartbreaking one, in a way. I loved it. So much. You must all read this book, right away. You will not regret it. I cannot wait to read this book again and again. Which I know I will do a lot.

Waiting on Wednesday #213

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

THE SAFEST LIES BY MEGAN MIRANDA

Goodreads Description:

Can fear be inherited?

Kelsey was raised to see danger everywhere. Her mother hasn’t set foot outside their front door in seventeen years, since she escaped from her kidnappers with Kelsey growing inside her.

Kelsey knows she’s supposed to keep a low profile for their own protection, but that plan is shattered when she drives off a cliff and is rescued by volunteer firefighter and classmate Ryan Baker.

A few days later, she arrives home to face her greatest fear: her mother is missing. She and her mother have drilled for all contingencies—except this one. Luckily, Ryan is as skilled at emergency rescues as Kelsey is at escape and evasion.

To have a chance at a future, Kelsey will have to face all her darkest fears. Because someone is coming for her.

And the truth about the past may end up being the most dangerous thing of all.

"There is a second tracking device embedded behind his right ear. In case anyone ever tried to kidnap him." Allowing Iko to take the brunt of Kai's weight, Cinder tentatively reached for
his drooping head. She brushed his hair out of the way and pressed her fingers into the
indent between his spine and skull. Something small and hard rested against the bone.
She nodded at the adviser. "Thank you," she said, ejecting the knife again.
He grunted. "If anything happens to him, Linh-mèi, I will hunt you down and kill you myself."
