I am so happy I learned about this book this week. Haven't ever seen the cover before this week, but the minute I saw it I knew I had to own these books. I'm a book cover lover. And then I read the summary, and I was sold. Needed it. And yesterday Eon arrived :D Was so happy. But Eona did not arrive, (no mail today) so was unsure if I should wait. I didn't. So glad I didn't. Gonna read Eona on my iPad now.
Eon is such an amazing book. It is amazing from the first page. The writing is stunning, and the characters are so so so good. And the story is incredible. This is a book that I did not want to put down at any times. And I didn't. Something is happening at all times, and it is all so damn good. Everyone really should read this book. It is an amazing Fantasy book. Lots of action, but it is also a sort of.. sweet book, in a way. If that makes any sense. It is from a girl's pov, and I'm glad for that :)
If you have already read the summary, then you know that the main character in this book is Eon. Or, really, Eona a 16 year old girl pretending to be a 12 year old boy. That is something that you need to know before starting this book. She is pretending to be so, because she want to be one of the Dragoneyes. Which is an awesome thing to be. But only a 12 year old boy can be chosen.
If anyone knew she was a girl she would be killed; both her and her master. Eona lives in a house with her master and his workers. He seemed like such an asshole, but I do suppose he was kind. Sometimes. He cared for Eona, it seemed. But there wasn't anything between them; and I'm glad for that, because he was over 40. I loved reading about where she lived. So many amazing characters.
Like Rilla and Chart. I think I missed the explanation of what Chart was. But I did know that he was a 14 year old boy living under the kitchen table. He seemed to be deformed. But oh. He was really sweet, and I liked him a lot :) Eona had some great friends. Only those two, but still :)
Eona is an really amazing character. I loved her from the beginning. She is a cripple. Somewhat. Her hip is about broken, so she drags her leg a lot and is in a lot of pain. And I hated that. But oh, I loved her so much more for it. Loved that she wasn't perfect. She is also kind, and smart, and an really awesome character. She does some really stupid things though, later, but I forgive her ;)
I don't want to give away the plot in this book. Because so much is happening and it would be amazing for you to read it yourself. But I will say some things. There are dragons in this book. But they aren't like normal dragons, I think. There were 12. And I loved how they did that :) But, uhm, I won't manage to describe it :p I don't think the dragons are visible to others. They are energy dragons.
And there is a lot of mention of people's energy in this book. But I did like it :) It just really confused me at times :p There are a few more awesome characters in this book. Like Lady Dela. Liked her. And Ryko. Liked him as well. They aren't normal, but oh, how I liked that there were so many different kinds of people in this book. Then there was Kygo. And I think he will be an awesome love interest :D
He better be. There weren't any romance in this book. You know, considering Eona was a boy to everyone. Except to her master and Rilla. They knew what she was :) And I'm happy for that. But I do think there will be romance in the next book ;) At least, I hope so. Another thing in this book I didn't like was the Sun powder. It was awesome, but I didn't like it. It was interesting, though :)
Then there is the bad guy in this book. Ido. And omg! I hated him. Although, I probably could have learned to love him if he was the love interest (A) But he isn't. He can't be. He is just so evil, and he kills so many people. Sort of. He is just an terrible person. But he made this book so good. And I loved that. He is an awesome villain.
Don't know what else to say about this book. The plot is amazing. The characters are perfect. The writing is perfect. And everything is just so good. It is a long book, but every page needed to be there. It ends in a cliffhanger; but that don't matter if you have the second book as well :) You really need to read Eon. It is a must read. <3
