SHADES OF EARTH BY BETH REVIS
Goodreads Description: (SPOILERY)
Amy and Elder have finally left the oppressive walls of the spaceship Godspeed behind. They're ready to start life afresh--to build a home--on Centauri-Earth, the planet that Amy has traveled 25 trillion miles across the universe to experience.
But this new Earth isn't the paradise Amy had been hoping for. There are giant pterodactyl-like birds, purple flowers with mind-numbing toxins, and mysterious, unexplained ruins that hold more secrets than their stone walls first let on. The biggest secret of all? Godspeed's former passengers aren't alone on this planet. And if they're going to stay, they'll have to fight.
Amy and Elder must race to discover who--or what--else is out there if they are to have any hope of saving their struggling colony and building a future together. They will have to look inward to the very core of what makes them human on this, their most harrowing journey yet. Because if the colony collapses? Then everything they have sacrificed--friends, family, life on Earth--will have been for nothing.

Pre-Order here. What? What do you mean I still haven't had Shades of Earth as a WoW? Oh my. I think about this book every day. Of course I need to share that I'm waiting on it :) I am DYING to read Shades of Earth. It is the sequel to Across the Universe and A Million Suns. I need to know what happens next. I need this book. I cannot wait to read it. It will be perfect. Sigh. I'm not that happy with the new covers. Or happy about it at all. But I will live. I think :D Just wish it had the old covers.. sigh. Anyway. I will still love the book; because it is the words that matter :D Sigh. I want this book. <3 Also, Beth is adorable :)
What are you waiting for?
Gimme gimme!!! I am dying to know what crazy aliens/dinosaurs/plants that eat people are on this planet?!

I seem to be brilliant at starting series but then never continuing them, despite how much I enjoy it. I loved the first book and still need to finish reading the second! I'm not a huge fan of the new cover either. The old versions were much nicer to look at. ;)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to this as well. I'm not too enthused with the new covers of these books, however. Regardless, it's what's inside that counts, yeah?
ReplyDeleteGreat pick, sweets.
I agree. But yeah, inside is what counts ;) Thank you. <3
DeleteI can't wait for this one either. I agree with Joyous Reads about the covers though. The originals were awesome.
ReplyDeleteEeep! I have A Million Suns but haven't read it yet. I need to get a move on! I hope you love this one :)

I still need to read A Million Suns!! I peeked at the summary for Shades of Earth (bad me, I know) and see that they finally make it there... exciting! I want to learn HOW. Meaning I need to get my butt in gear and get AMS, right? :D
ReplyDeleteI totally agree about the covers, the original were SO gorgeous!
LOL! Weeell.. when I read just one book but not the rest, I always peek at the ending to the sequels (A) lol. Anyway. YES! You must read A Million Suns! It is so good. Sigh. Dying for this book.. <3
DeleteOne of my friends keep recommending me this series, I think she is going to kill me if I don't catch up before this book is published. :D Great pick!

Check out what I am waiting for this Wednesday...
I need to catch up on this series someday! I really enjoyed book one and can't wait to see what happens when they finally get to their new planet! I agree about the new covers. I find the new ones pretty boring. :/
ReplyDeleteI have yet to read A Million Suns, but this sounds like a phenomenal series! Not a fan of this cover either, though (like you, I was partial to the original cover). Amazing pick, Carina!
