Review: Gasp by Lisa McMann

I'm glad I decided to read this trilogy. Because I have enjoyed it. The books are short and easy to read. They are fun and exciting. A bit weird at times, but also adorable. I enjoyed Gasp the most, but didn't fully love it, which is why it is a four star read for me. Despite not fully loving it, I did enjoy it a lot :)

First I want to start by talking about those gorgeous covers. All three are stunning. And I'm glad I own these books. Sigh. They are just so pretty, hih. And the eyes are gorgeous. Then there is the writing. I didn't have an issue with it in this book. Which made me happy. I found it to be more fun and easier to read.

I love that these books are told from the point of view of Jules. As I still adore her. She's silly and smart and kind. I do love her. And her crazy family, lol. Trey is still just all kinds of amazing. I love him and Ben together. Swoon. They are so cute, hih. And I do adore Rowan as well. Though I would have loved to get to see her boyfriend being there. Loved reading about him, though.

There is just so much in this book yet so little at the same time. It is a fast read and an exciting one. We see more of the vision thing. Learn more details about it, which I liked. Though I still don't get why Jules is so obsessed with having to solve it all, hih. But I also understand her a little. Maybe. Anyway. It was very interesting to read about, yet also a little silly, but I liked it. And I did like getting to know a few more characters. Like Tori. Fine, I didn't like her much, lol, but she was interesting to read about.

I do think that Gasp was an amazing book. And I did enjoy it a lot. And I thought this was a great trilogy. And I cannot wait to read more books by Lisa. <3 As she is awesome. And I suggest that you all read this trilogy. And if you have read book one and two, then you must hurry and pick up Gasp right away. Because it is worth it. I'm glad I read the books. As they were fun. And interesting. And exciting. And sweet and sad and heartbreaking and weird and silly. I did enjoy them all. Honest. So go read them :)

I just. I'm giving this book a four start because I felt like it ended too soon. There is still so much I want and need to know. So this will be a little spoilery, sorry about that. But yess. I need to know what happens with the restaurant. I need to know what happens with Sawyer's family. Do they ever get better? Do the family drama stop? I need to know. ACK. lol. And then the sexy times. There are a lot. And so awkward and hot. Yet they never have sex. Which bothered me. It was leading up to it, but it never happened. Sniffs. Okay, fine, it isn't that awful that it didn't happen. But I wanted to know that it did.

Review: Bang by Lisa McMann

I really do like the story in these books. Honestly. But then I still have that little issue with how it is written. Ack. But I also love the writing, so it's a bit complicated for me. But for the most part I really enjoyed Bang so I'm giving it a four star. It was an exciting book. It's not perfect, but I really enjoyed reading it.

This book is also told from the point of view of Jules. Whom I still adore. She's pretty awesome, hih. And her family. Sigh. I loved getting to read more about Trey and Rowan. They are both amazing. Love them all so much. And their dad? Hating him more and more for each book. Ack. Worried about book three.

Then there is Sawyer. Who is now officially Jules's boyfriend. I still love him like crazy. Though I do think many of their scenes together are a bit cheesy and weird yet I loved every moment of them, hih. And Sawyer. Sigh. My heart breaks for him. His stupid family. Her stupid family. I do not approve! It better get resolved in book three. Sigh. Though my way of making it okay? Killing off his family, lol. But that's probably not happening :)

I don't have too much to say about Bang. Just that it is an amazing book. Yet too short. Ack. But at the same time I love that the books are short. I love that I don't have to wait forever for things to happen. That I don't have to worry for eternity, lol. But I still worry, I do. Because this is an exciting book. A little bit normal at times, and a lot of un-normal at different times. This book is different. And I love that about it. I love that we get to meet some new characters as well. Excited to read more about Ben.

Then there is the romance in this book. Sigh. There is more than there were in Crash. Which is good. The romance is sweet and hot and just all kinds of awesome. Though, yeah, a bit silly, hih. But I couldn't help but loving it even so. Because it do seem honest and real. And Sawyer and Jules are just too adorable together. And I cannot wait to read more about their romance. Sigh. I'm hoping it will be even more awesome in Gasp. So fingers crossed for that. <3 They are just so cute and adorable together.

We see more of the visions in this book. Okay, there was only one vision in book one. That played for Jules over and over again. And there is one in this book too. That Sawyer is seeing. And I found that very interesting to read about. Weird, yes, but also kind of awesome. I loved getting to know more about the vision and reading about them finally figuring things out about it. It was fun. And a bit creepy. I loved how it all ended. Though yeah. A bit awful. But I loved it even so. Excited for the next book.

I'm not saying more about Bang. Just that I thought it was a great book. Not perfect, but still amazing. I'm glad I finally started reading this series, hih. And I will be reading Gasp in a moment. <3 I cannot wait. Anyway. I do think you should all read Bang. Especially if you have already read Crash. Because it is an amazing sequel. It is short and fun and sweet and a bit sad too. And I just adore all the characters. Sigh. Jules and Sawyer. And Trey. Who is just too adorable. I'm excited to read more about him, lol.

Review: Crash by Lisa McMann

I can't decide how I feel about this book. I enjoyed the story so much. But I had huge issues with the way it was written. So I think I'm giving this book a three star. Because I really did enjoy the story :) Though the book is so short. Sniffs. But thankfully I have the next two books right here next to me. I'm excited.

I'm really not sure how to write this review of mine. I'm not sure what to say and what not to say. So I am sure that my review will not be that long. Because the book is so short. Yet that is also a good thing. I liked that everything happened pretty fast. I didn't have to wait for stuff to happen, hih. Which was good.

Crash is told from the point of view of Jules. Who is pretty adorable. I did like her. I just.. I didn't like the way she thought. The way the book was written. It just didn't feel real to me. Okay, fine, that might be because I was never that teenager. I didn't think like that. Or feel like that. But I do know of others that did. Kind of. And while I disliked how it was written, I did like the writing. Which was a bit odd for me. And I liked it.

I think Jules and her family is Italian. I couldn't be sure, though. As I am not that good with names, lol. But they do own a restaurant. And it is pretty awesome. I loved reading about that. About them making food and delivering it. It was sweet. Then. Her family. I loved her sister, Rowan. She was adorable. And her bigger brother, Trey. Whom I need to get to know even better. He was just all kinds of awesome, I think. I did like her mother. Mostly. But her dad? No thank you. I really hated him a whole lot. Ugh.

The plot in this book is mostly about Jules seeing this vision about a crash that is going to happen. Well, she doesn't know it is going to happen. She thinks she's going crazy. Which I understood very much. I just didn't fully connect, because of the way it was written :p But I liked reading about her vision. About how she figured out more details. About how she knew that Sawyer would die. The boy she has loved from afar for years. Which was kind of really heartbreaking. Yet also adorable in a weird way, hih.

There isn't enough romance in this book. But that is because it is short and it focus on more important things. But there is Sawyer. Who we don't know all that well. Who hasn't spoken to Jules since seventh grade. Which was depressing. Yet she still loves him. Which was kind of weird and adorable yet I loved it. I cannot wait to read more about their romance in book two and three. There better be more, just saying :D Because Sawyer was an interesting character to read about. I can't wait to get to know him.

Anyway. There are more things happening in this book. But I will not mention them, as it would spoil things, I think. With how short the book is. But the book is also good, despite me not loving it. Hoping I will like book two more. <3 But yes. I did enjoy Crash. And I do adore Lisa. I love her middle grade series. Excited to read more from her. And excited to read the next two books in this trilogy. And I do think you should all read Crash. Cause while it is a bit weird, it is also sweet and fun and different.

I didn't get all that much this week. But I did get some amazing books, still. <3 And I cannot wait to read them all. So excited. Anyway. I did read some books this week. I re-read The Burning Sky. <3 And read The Perilous Sea. And I love those two books SO MUCH. I also read and loved The Witch's Boy. And posted another Cress Tuesday. <3 And I'm waiting on The Bane Chronicles :) I am also currently reading Crash. Which I am enjoying. Will probably review it tonight, if I find the time to read more :) And then I will read Bang and Gasp. <3 Fingers crossed I will love them all. Ohh! And I watched two movies at the cinema this week. First, Maleficent. Which I LOVED. It was so amazing. So heartbreaking. So beautiful. The ending was perfect. Oh, how I loved that movie. I need a sequel, lol. And then last night I watched The Fault in Our Stars. And I actually loved it too :D It was pretty amazing. I loved the book more, but I felt like this movie was done really well. Mostly :) Oh. And I know that I am behind on comments. Again. I'm so sorry. Just haven't had the time yet :( BUT SOON. I do still comment on a lot of blogs everyday, just haven't had the time to check my own comments, lol. Soon. Promise. What did you get this week?

Review: The Witch's Boy by Kelly Barnhill

When I saw this gorgeous cover I knew I had to read the book. Then I read the summary and fell in love. And then it was on NetGalley. And I had to request it. So happy that the publisher approved me. <3 Took me some weeks to start reading it, but today I finally did. And it was so worth it. I adored it a lot.

I'm not sure how to begin talking about this book. First I want to mention that the writing is beautiful. I really loved it. It made the story come alive for me. Then there are the characters. I adored reading about them all. Especially Ned. I loved that the book is told from many different point of views.

I just loved so much about this book. And I won't talk too much about it. Because it felt so short while I read it. And I don't want to say everything that happens. Just a few small things that I really adored. First, I really loved Ned. Though the beginning of the book.. it is heartbreaking. We learn that Ned had a twin; Tam. That he died when they were very young. He drowned. And we get to read that scene. And it was so sad and so real and I loved it to pieces. Then we get to know their mother, who is called Sister Witch. Because she kind of is a Witch. And I loved getting to know her a little too. She was awesome. But their dad. Sigh. I don't know. I liked him later in the book. In the beginning he just seems so broken. And I couldn't be sure whether he loved Ned or not. But I do know that he did. I do. And I did like him. For the most part.

Because you see. Life for Ned is not all that good. He has his mom and his dad. But he has no friends. It's been many years since Tam died. And his mother did something terrible. Yet also beautiful, because it kept Ned alive. But oh. So heartbreaking as well. Sniffs. Anyway. Ned cannot speak much, because he stutters. And he is very weak. And it is so heartbreaking. And everyone in the village is saying that the wrong boy survived the river that day. And it made me so angry and so sad. Yet it was amazing to read.

I just loved reading about Ned. He was such an amazing character. Such an adorable boy. Yet so broken. Sniffs. Though I wish we had gotten more about that. There just wasn't enough. Sigh. There is also a wolf in this book. And that was all kinds of awesome. I loved that wolf so much. Yet.. a few parts I found a bit heartbreaking. Sniffs. There is a bunch of mean things in this book. Mean people. Deaths. Heartbreak. But also friendship. There are many characters. Some I really hated. Just so you know :D

But then there was Áine. And oh, I really did love her. Though I was a bit unsure about her sometimes, as she seemed a bit cold. But we got to know her a little better and I started to like her a lot. I loved the starting of the friendship between her and Ned. It was sweet. But sniffs. I would have liked the book to be longer. I would have liked to get to see more of it. Sigh. But anyway. It was enough. Because Áine was an amazing character. As was Ned. And the wolf. And just about everyone. Sigh. Oh, how I enjoyed this.

There is magic in this book. And it is amazing. It reminded me a little bit about The Thickety, which I loved. But at the same time it was very different from it. Which made me happy. Because I love both books now, hih. Anyway. The magic. It speaks. And it was a bit creepy. Yet all kinds of awesome. I really enjoyed reading about it. Though it did do some awful things. Sigh. But anyway. I found The Witch's Boy to be a beautiful book. Full of adventure, friendship and heartbreak. This book just made me so happy.

Though there was this one thing. And I cannot decide how I felt about it. Okay, fine, it broke my heart a little. So this small part will be spoilery. Just a warning. It is about the ending. First, I loved the ending. But. A whole year went by. And Áine and the wolf just left Ned. Then came back. And it broke my heart. Because he was so sad and dreaming about them and it broke my heart into a million pieces. Oh, I need a sequel. I need to read about Áine making up to Ned for leaving. And I might want some romance, hih.
