Been wanting to read this book ever since I saw that awesome cover. I think it's gorgeous and special. When I got accepted to read it I was so happy, and I just had to read it right away :) And oh. The Burning Sky is an amazing book. I loved it so much. Don't think I had any flaws with it. Okay, wished for a tiny bit less drama at one point, but it wasn't bad at all; I still loved it.
The summary of this book speaks of magic and elixirs and a prince. All of which is in this book. What it doesn't mention is that most of the book takes place at an all-boys school. And that it is so so amazing. The plot is unique and awesome. The writing is perfect. The characters are really, really amazing and I loved all of them. The action and excitement are done great.
The book is told from two different point of views. First there is Iolanthe Seabourne, a sixteen year old girl. She's amazing. I loved her so much. She's strong and kind. She lives with her sort-of-father, Master Haywood. I kind of disliked him. He wasn't very kind. But when we learn why, what happened to him, I could sort of understand it. Iolanthe lives in an amazing place. A Domain where everyone is a mage. With small powers over the four elementals. Iolanthe have power over three of them, Fire, Water and Earth. I loved reading about her using Fire and such. It was awesome. She even have a wand. Hih :)
We learn lots of things about her life. Won't talk about it all. But will talk about the beginning, which is sort of mentioned in the summary. Iolanthe read in a book that a lightningbolt could save any kind of broken elixir. And she's desperate to have it fixed. Although no one have ever summoned lightning in ages. But she manages to do it. Which is where our plot starts. Because now she's in danger. The Inquisitor wants her. Because she's powerful. Her Master gets her safe. Mostly. Then there's the prince.
Prince Titus is the other person this book is told from. And I loved him so much. He's just really amazing. He is also broken, which we see many times. Sobs. He's also alone. And because of that he's a bit mean at times, and he lies a lot. But I didn't blame him for that. He lives at his palace, because he is the ruler of the Domain. But that isn't really true, because Atlantis seems to be ruling everything. We didn't learn enough about them, but what I did see of them wasn't very nice. They are awful people.
Titus's mother died many years ago, and she was a Seer. She told him about his destiny, when he would die, and who he needed to protect. She told him what time it would happen on, when he first met the mage who is destined to take down the Bane. And it happens. When he see the lightningbolt made by Iolanthe, he knows it is her he is supposed to protect. But it gets really complicated, and I'm not good enough at describing it all, so I won't try to ;p But it is amazing and I loved all of what happened.
Titus has been planning for his destiny his whole life. What would happen after he found the one who would help him. But he didn't plan for her to be she. Because he goes to an all-boys school in a nonmage world, in London. This book is set in 1883. I think. But to keep her safe, she must pose at a boy. Archer Fairfax. And I loved it all. That's all I'm going to say about the plot :) But oh. It is so amazing. I loved the parts at the school, I loved reading about the other boys. They were awesome. I just enjoyed it all.
I won't say more of the plot, like I said. There is just too much happening. And it is all so good and awesome and I couldn't have loved it any more. I just could not stop reading this book. Anyway. There is a lot of magic in this book. Sort of. And I loved reading about it. There is this canary that takes a big part in the book. Hih. I loved it. This book is special. And I know I will re-read it at some point. To relive it all. Like the Crucible. This fairy-tale-come-to-life book. It was amazing! Loved it to death.
Then there is the relationship between Iolanthe and Titus. It isn't going very well, because of all his lies. But even so. They just fit together so well. At least I think so :) There is some romance in this book. But not that much, and I might have wanted more. But I have hopes for the sequel. <3 Still, it is good enough in this book. There is also some drama. But not like other books. No triangle. No kissing other people, thank god. This book is just about them, and I loved that so much. I cannot wait for more.
I don't know what else to say. I want to talk about it all. But I won't, because it is spoilery, and I loved reading about it so much, and I think all of you will too. There is action, mystery, excitement and some love. Amazing magic. There is just too many things to love in this book. There is hurt and a few broken hearts, but nothing too brutal. There are a bunch of evil people, though. But I kind of loved reading about them. They were done well. Everything was. I just don't know what else to say. Just, love.
I cannot wait for the sequel to come out. But omg. I will have to wait so long for it! Wish I could read it right away. <3 But yeah. It probably isn't out until September 2014. Forever away. But I do think the wait will be worth it. Anyway. You need to read this book when it comes out this September. You must do it.
Thank you so much to the publisher Balzer + Bray and Edelweiss for the chance to read and review this early. <3 I loved it so much, and I cannot wait to get my gorgeous hardcover in September :)

Review: A Face Like Glass by Frances Hardinge
I hadn't heard of this book until a blogger friend of mine read it. And she loved it. Really loved it. So I just knew I had to buy it. Because the cover is so gorgeous, and I really love the summary. Also, I just adore middle grade books, because most of the time they are more special than other books. A Face Like Glass is an amazing book. And I'm so glad I read it. I also really wish for a sequel ;p There doesn't have to be. But I want one :)
A Face Like Glass is a stunning novel. It is just really amazing. The plot is unique and special and just all kinds of awesome. The writing is really good, even though it did give me a headache, and the characters are all so good and likeable and I just loved them all. There is many of them. The book is told from a few different point of views, but mostly just from the point of view of Neverfell. The others are just small glimpses :)
I would never be able to talk about this plot. About everything that happens. So I'll just mention the beginning and a few awful and amazing things, and talk about some feelings and all the special characters. Hopefully I won't spoil anything that you can't already read in the summary :) This is the story of Neverfell. She's a little girl at twelve years old. For the past seven years she has lived underground sort of locked up in a tunnel with Grandible, the Cheesemaster. I kind of really loved him, even though he did keep her hidden. Because it was for a reason, and I'm pretty sure he loves her.
Neverfell is a strange child. She doesn't remember anything at all before the age of five, when she was found by Grandible after having fallen into his neverfell. She's different than everyone, though. At first she doesn't know why she's different; she thinks she's ugly. And that kind of broke my heart. But I also loved it. Before she finds out the truth, she's just living there with him and not really meeting anyone. She isn't allowed to leave the tunnel. But still she learns. She learns about the way things are in Caverna.
And oh. I loved reading about the underground city of Caverna. It just sounded so amazing and also a bit horrifying. The people have lived underground for five centuries. And because of that they don't have normal faces. They can't change their expression, unless they have had a Facesmith teach them one. Most of them only know about five faces each. And that was really heartbreaking, to be honest. It hurt me. It was so different that I just couldn't help but love it. I loved reading about all the strange things.
The thing about Neverfell's face is that she can show emotions. She doesn't have any Faces. Everything she thinks and feels is showing up on her face. And that is terrifying to most. I loved it. But yeah. It did make her different. She did have one friend, though, for those seven years. Erstwhile. I kind of really adored him. Okay, he seemed a bit weird at first, but I grew to love him. No romance, but an amazing friendship. I wish he had been there more, but I loved the parts that he did have in the book. <3
I won't say how things happen next, what happens to Neverfell. But she does end up outside the tunnels. She ends up right in the city, and at the palace, where the Grand Steward rules. I don't know how to describe him. He was amazing. And awful. And I just love him. He's really, really, really old, and he's sort of mad. Really mad. He is a split person, left side and right side. And I loved reading about it all, so that's all I'm going to say about it ;p He was an really interesting character that I loved reading about.
There are so many characters in this book. I don't know how I felt about them all. I did however love reading about all of them. Because they are all interesting, and I loved the part each of them played in this book. There is Zouelle who I'm still unsure about. She did some awful things. But she also do some good, and she seems to be an honest friend to Neverfell. Maybe. Her Uncle, Maxim Childersin, I didn't understand that much. Won't say more than that ;p He has a really big part in this book, though.
Then there was Madame Appeline, who I kind of always hated. She just seemed really false to me, since she's a Facesmith and all. But Neverfell seemed to love her, and seem to think she had an connection to her. I was heartbroken to know the truth of it all. But it was also amazing to read about. But yes. It was heartbreaking, and it made me really sad, but it was also so, so good. Another character is the Kleptomancer. He was weird. And mad. But I kind of liked him, still. He's really interesting, though ;p
There is so many places to get to know in this book. And I loved reading about them all. Just wished we had seen ever more from the Cheese tunnels. Sigh. I loved that place. We see a lot of the palace, though, and it was such an awful place. Lots of murderers there and other awful things. Then there was the drudges. I hated the life they had. And with just five faces they couldn't do anything about it. I really hated it, because it was an awful way to live. But I also loved reading about it, because it was amazing.
Heh. I think I've said enough about this book now :) There is just so much. There are so many things happening, and I didn't say anything about it all. But yeah. This is a long book, and it took me some time to read it. Wished it had been even longer. A Face Like Glass is such a good book. I loved reading about all the characters and the things they did. I loved reading about all the places underground and all the magical things the people could do with Wine and Cheeses and Perfume. Sigh. All so perfect.
I think I'm rating this book with a four point five star. I loved every part of it. I truly did. But I'm not giving it a five star, because I did have a few troubles with the writing. It was just too much for my mind, hih. It gave me a huge headache. But even though the writing/words bothered me a bit, I still loved the writing very much. Because the book is written well. If you haven't read this yet, then I really think that you must :) Not the best middle grade book I have read, but one of my favorites, still. <3

Cover Reveal: The Too-Clever Fox by Leigh Bardugo
Doesn't it look amazing? Sigh. I adore this cover. And I'm pretty sure I will adore this short story, since I have adored everything Leigh Bardugo have written so far. There is no summary of this so far, but I don't mind. I just know it will be amazing. I did love her other short story so much as well :) I cannot wait to read The Too-Clever Fox. <3 And I just love this cover so much! It's amazing. This short story will be out in May, and it will be available to read for free on Tor.com :) What do you think of the cover?
Review: The Girl Who Was Supposed to Die by April Henry
I hadn't heard of this book before I noticed it on NetGalley today. When I read the summary I knew I had to read it right away, because it sounded pretty amazing. So I did start it right away. I'm glad I read the book, even though it wasn't that perfect for me, but it is a three star book, and I did enjoy reading it all :)
The Girl Who Was Supposed to Die is a fast read. Just over two hundred pages, and it is easy to get lost into. While I wish it had been longer, it didn't need to be, because everything got wrapped up at the ending. My review of this book won't be that long, because the book is so short, and I don't want to give anything away :D Since there is a lot of things to spoil in this book ;p
This is a book about a girl who wakes up on the floor of a cabin with no memory of who she is or why she's there. Which I really loved, because it's an interesting plot twist. She doesn't remember who she is or anything about herself before the cabin. But she knows other things, like what everything is and how to drive a car and other things like that. I approved of that :)
I really don't know how to talk about this book. Will be a few spoilers of the beginning, but that you can read about in the summary, to be honest. While she's lying there on the floor she hears a man tell another one to get rid of her. She's also noticing how much pain she's in. Her tooth is loose, and she's missing two fingernails. Shudders. That was pretty awful to read about, but I kind of loved it as well, because it's weird and unique. I won't say how it happens, but she manages to escape from the cabin.
After she's escaped there is a lot of things happening. Won't say what, either :D But yeah. There is a lot of action and mystery and lots of things that don't add up. I loved reading about it, because it was exciting and I did like it. I liked reading about the girl as well, because she is pretty sweet and amazing. I just had some trouble connecting to her, and to the writing. And I found the ending to go a bit too fast, and some bad guys talked too much about secret stuff. Other than that, I enjoyed it very much :)
While she's on the run from the men who want her dead, she meets this guy. And oh. Ty is an amazing character. He's really kind and sweet. I had some trouble getting the right feelings for him too, though, but I loved him, still. There is not much romance in this book. It does not focus on it. I liked that. But I also liked that there is a hint of a romance between them. Ty helps her a lot, and I loved that very much. And I enjoyed reading about his friend and roommate, James :) I liked him very much as well.
This book also focus a bit of science. I didn't understand it all, but I still enjoyed it, because most of it made sense. Plus, it was interesting to read about, and it made the other things make sense as well. I don't really want to say anything else about this book. There is a lot of bad guys. And some awful things happen. But mostly it's a book about the girl trying to figure out who she is while escaping from some bad men trying to kill her. It's an easy and sort of fun read. While I didn't love it, I liked it very much :)
I'm not a big fan of the cover. Well, it isn't that bad, and I will be getting a hardcover of this book in June, but yeah. It does fit with the book, though, and I like that very much :) Something I enjoyed in this book was the characters. While I didn't truly connect with them, I still loved reading about them, and I wanted to know what happened next with all of them. I like the ending of this book. I do want more, but there don't have to be. The Girl Who Was Supposed to Die is a different book. And it's good.
If you like a sort of mystery book with good characters and an interesting plot, then you should most definitely buy this book when it comes out in June :) Because although I had a few issues with it, it is still an awesome book, and I think most of you will love it. It has an interesting plot, and lovable characters. Thank you so much to Macmillan & NetGalley for the chance to read and review this early. <3
