Mini Review: Eleven Minutes by Megan Miranda

This isn't really a review, because the short story is only 28 pages long. But still, it is amazing, and I just wanted to share my words on it :)

Oh, this was depressing. But still, so good. I love Decker. And I am so happy with 26 pages from his POV :) Even though they are sad. So sad. This short story describes what Decker went through in those eleven minutes and six days. It is heartbreaking. But I am also glad I read it. <3

I'm hoping Megan will write more outtakes from Fracture. What I want the most is a few happy future takes. That takes place after Fracture. I just want some more romance, and some happy times :)

Haven't read Fracture yet? Then do so. It is an extremely sad and heartbreaking story, but it is still so amazing.

Goodreads. My review of Fracture.

Review: The Way We Fall by Megan Crewe

I don't know how to start this review. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it. On the one hand, it was amazing. On the other, there were so many things I had issues with. My review will contain MANY SMALL SPOILERS, so if you don't want that, you really shouldn't read this review :)

I had waited a very long time for this book, and I am tiny tiny tiny bit disappointed. But not very much. I kind of really liked the main charater; Kaelyn. I liked that the book told her story. But then, I never got used to the writing. The whole diary thing. But, the second book will be different, and I am excited about that :)

Even though I liked Kaelyn, I had issues with feeling things the way she did. I didn't really connect with her. But besides that, the story really is amazing. I liked the plot. I liked the way the virus is described; it sounded very real and so freaking scary.

What I didn't like however, were all the deaths.. Of important people. But then, I also get why so many people had to die. Even the important ones. Although there were a couple of deaths I really hated (A)

Even though the story is amazing, and I liked a few characters, there was this thing I REALLY hated. She is writing this diary of sorts to her used-to-be best friend who has moved away. And because of that, I really thought Leo would be the love interest. He wasn't.

Leo wasn't even in this book. But he will be in the next one. She made me fall for Leo, kind of, and then she made Kaelyn fall for Gav. Which, to me, didn't really make sense at all. I didn't really like him either. And when she fell for him, she just "let go" of her feelings for Leo. Which didn't seem real to me..

But then, Leo and her never had a relationship before, and he has a girlfriend, sort of. But still. What was the point in making me like him, when he won't even be the love interest? :( If it is to make a love triangle with four people in the next book then I'm most likely not reading it. Even though I am extremely excited for the next book; to see what happens next. But more than that, I hate love triangles :p

But. I am going to hope. Although this part really, really pissed me off :\ Hoping it will all work out in the sequel :) Although I don't see how it can right now :p It will most likely break my heart. Oh well. It's still a year until then, right? :D

The story is worthy of at least four stars. But because of the issues I had with some things I'm only giving it three stars. But still, this is a great book, one you really, really should read :)

Book Recommendation: Graceling by Kristin Cashore

I hadn't heard much about this book, and I never really wanted to read it. But then I suddenly had a crazy episode which I ordered tons of new books, (lol), one of them being Graceling; because of it's pretty cover. And then a few days after it arrived, I picked it up. And from then I was hooked.

This book is beyond amazing. It is now one of my favorites. Everything about it is amazing. The writing. The story world. The characters. The romance Every single thing. It is simply a must read book for everyone.

If you haven't read this book yet, and are worried about it, or anything like that, you really must give it a try. I promise you that you won't regret it. Not even for a second.

I just finished reading Graceling for the second time. And it's not been long since I first read it. And even now, I wish to re-read it. I want more Po. I need more of Po. And more of Katsa. And more of everything. Mostly, though, I need the third book; Bitterblue.

There are ARCs of it out there, but oh, very hard to get them :\ It doesn't come out until May. And I am not sure I'll survive the wait. Hoping to get an ARC of it very soon :)

I am also sharing with you a couple of my favorite lines from this book. But they are both very close to the ending, and they include some spoilers, so read with caution :)

My review of Graceling. My review of Fire. My wish for Bitterblue.

Waiting on Wednesday #16

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

BITTERBLUE BY KRISTIN CASHORE

Goodreads Description:

Eight years after Graceling, Bitterblue is now queen of Monsea. But the influence of her father, a violent psychopath with mind-altering abilities, lives on. Her advisors, who have run things since Leck died, believe in a forward-thinking plan: Pardon all who committed terrible acts under Leck’s reign, and forget anything bad ever happened. But when Bitterblue begins sneaking outside the castle—disguised and alone—to walk the streets of her own city, she starts realizing that the kingdom has been under the thirty-five-year spell of a madman, and the only way to move forward is to revisit the past. Two thieves, who only steal what has already been stolen, change her life forever. They hold a key to the truth of Leck’s reign. And one of them, with an extreme skill called a Grace that he hasn’t yet identified, holds a key to her heart.
