It has been over four years since my first read, three years since my second. And I have still not read Lightbringer. Mostly because of how Kingsbane killed me, and I have not been brave enough to start my re-read until now, ha. I so love these books.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EI know I will love the third book too. But oh, I'm beyond nervous. Simply because I adore this story and these characters so much. Will not be reading my older reviews before I write this. I am not able to have those in my mind right now. I haven't read a lot for so long now. And it took me a whole week to re-read this lovely.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EBut I am so glad that I finally read it again. Because I still love this book the most. It still gives me so much joy to read it. Even all the evil parts, haha. I am not at all sure my heart can handle my re-read of Kingsbane next. It will be hard. I love it so. But the paaain. Gosh. Still. I'm so excited too. Won't be writing such a long review of Furyborn this time. As I'm having trouble finding the right words. My heart is just full of love right now. It makes me so happy that I still love this book so much, all these years later. It is so not always the case. But it have always been so with books by Claire. Sigh. She is my most favorite author. And her books means the most to me. Words are failing me. It was good to read this one again, as I had forgotten so much of it. Not the important parts, but so many small details. All so exciting.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EThere is so much I could say about this story. Will only share a little. It tells such an epic tale of two girls. Set one thousand years apart. Connected through blood and secrets. I still love Rielle and her story the most. But I so adore Eliana as well. But yeah. Rielle holds my heart a little bit more. Her and Audric. They are from the past, have been best friends since they were little. Along with Ludivine. These three were so good together and I loved it the most. Their friendship was the cutest. I loved getting to know them more.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EBut the growing romance between Rielle and Audric was the best. And it still makes me so happy. Since it is so pure and adorable. They truly love each other. It's not without issues, though. And that just makes me love it more. Rielle has such an incredible journey to go through. Still dislike her father so much. Ugh. I still feel like they were perfect together and still should have been together. Sigh. I know, it can't be. But I still wished for it. He was such a precious friend and I loved him so. Reading about the trials that Rielle had to face was so exciting. I had forgotten some details. And reading it again was the best thing. She is so powerful. And a little dangerous. But oh, how thrilling it was to read about everything. Then there are the angels. Corien. I still hate him. And I always will, ha. But that storyline is pretty good too. Just. Oh. Of course I would read this, as I adore Soman and all his books. Reading his new versions of old tales was every kind of amazing. I'm giving this book four stars, though, as I did love these stories, but did not completely love them. But they were truly incredible. \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EWhat I loved most about these twelve stories was that they were all diverse. They were all fantastic. Some had hopeful and good endings, some had dark and evil endings, haha. They were all different from the original fairy tales we know. But, confession. I have never read any of them. Only seen the Disney movies, ha.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EI'm having trouble figuring out to write down my thoughts about this book. I will not be writing too much about it, as it was a pretty short and easy read. And there were twelve different stories. At first I thought it would be longer versions of the stories that are in The School for Good and Evil books, as all these fairy tales have a story in those books as well. But no. These twelve tales were all new. Except for the last one, which I am certain is canon from the first series. Which I very much loved. I liked the writing a lot. It was different, which is one of the reasons this is a four star and not five, as I had a little trouble with it. But I grew to love the writing and I never had trouble enjoying the stories. All were awesome. I loved that the stories were new and different. I so loved how they were all dark. I loved that many of them were gay.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EThis book tells the story of twelve fairy tales. Red Riding Hood. Snow White. Sleeping Beauty. Rapunzel. Jack and the Beanstalk. Hansel and Gretel. Beauty and the Beast. Bluebeard. Cinderella.  Peter Pan. The Little Mermaid. Rumpelstiltskin. I will not be writing about all of them, but will share a little. They were all four stars for me. I loved how different they were from the tales that I know. Different in a good way. I wish they all had a good ending, though. Some were all kinds of sad. Rude. But all of them were so incredible.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EIf I need to choose a favorite story, I think it would be Hansel and Gretel. Because that one had the actual best ending, I think, ha. Despite that very evil beginning. Shudders. But the ending was good. The story I wanted most to have a good ending was Beauty and the Beast. Which had the worst ending ever. Sobs. The rudest. The Little Mermaid had the shortest ending, but might have had the most easy ending there was. Peter Pan had the saddest ending, to be honest. But also the most beautiful romance, which I loved.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EThere was so much to love about these stories. And I think you should all most definitely read all of them. They were very much like The School for Good and Evil books, yet different too. It seemed like the same world. And yet they are not the same tales we get to read a little of in the books. Except for the Peter Pan one. Which was so good but so sad too. Okay, all the stories were sad, haha. But a little hopeful too. As most of them did have happy endings. I loved the characters in all of these stories. They were all special.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EBeasts and Beauty: Dangerous Tales were just as beautiful and beastly as I thought it would be. Despite me not loving it to pieces, I still loved it a whole lot, and these stories were so precious to me. I think you will all love these tales. They are diverse and gay and so lovely. Okay, so dark and evil at times, but still amazing. Rumpelstiltskin may be the one I will remember most, as the girl had some real bad luck yet ending was pretty good. I can't wait to read even more books by Soman. And because I have read and enjoyed books by this author for years. I hoped I would like this one, and that I did. Giving it four stars, as it was almost perfect to me. Only knew that there has been a dog in space, but no real details about it. And reading this story was pretty exciting. But also sad, which was hurtful. But it was a great story, and I am glad that I read it. It was a story with heart.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EThis book takes place in Russia in 1957. It tells the story of Laika, the first dog sent to space. It was a honest and real story. I knew how it would end, with the dog, but I still hoped that it would have a different ending. It did not. Sobs. It was fully interesting to read about, though. This book is told from two different point of views, alternating between them. We get to read from the dog, Laika. And the girl who gets to know her, Nina. I will not be sharing too much about this book. As it was a pretty easy and fast read. There was not really that much happening. But it was pretty exciting at times and full of family love, which I enjoyed a lot. I really liked reading about the bond between Laika and Nina, how it kept growing. They were both so cute but sad and broken too.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EI enjoyed getting to know Nina and her family. She is twelve years old and her brother Ivan is ten. He wasn't all that nice at first but I grew to care for him, as he got better. I also liked her parents a lot. Their family scenes were pretty cute. Nina had a best friend, who escaped with her family to America, having been branded as traitors to Russia. And so she cannot talk to her or talk about her at all. The people at her school doesn't treat her nice either. Some of it were a little weird, but I liked it even so. But sad too.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EThis book is about the dog Laika. And I really liked getting to read from her mind. She was a homeless dog, living alone out on the streets. Getting attacked by other dogs, barely getting something to eat. She did not have a good life. Until she got picked up by humans, wishing to use her in their space program. She got food and some new dog friends, who were adorable. She had to do a lot of tests, to see if she could enter space. It was a little hard to read about but so interesting too. I liked this dog a whole bunch.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003ELaika is being cared for by Nina's father, as he works there. So they get to meet and Nina starts spending time with the dogs. Which I adored a whole lot. This book was about them connecting and starting to care more. And the date for sending a dog into space got closer and closer. And then Nina slowly learned that Laika was never meant to come back from space, as the rocket was not made for that. And reading about all of that was so sad but good too. It was a fast read, full of feelings. I wish it had ended differently, haha.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EOne thing about this book is that it reminded me a lot about World War II and what happened then, with the youth groups. Okay, because it was featured in the last book I read about the war. And because of what is happening right now in the world, with the Russia war. And how similar Russia and Germany were back then. It was written well, though. But yeah. Russia in the time of the Communists did not seem like a good time. Does not seem like Russia is any better now. This doesn't focus much on any of that, though. \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EDog Star was a great read. And I'm glad I read this beautiful story. It did make me cry, though. And I'm a little bitter about that ending, haha. But this was a stunning book. And I very much enjoyed it. It was not fully perfect to me, as I found some of the dog point of view a little weird, with talking to a star, but it was still very cute. And I cannot wait to read more books by Megan. I haven't yet read all of her books, but I have read a bunch, and she's a great writer. First I had a few days of arm pain from getting my 4th vaccine last Friday. Then this Thursday I felt like shit. And took my very first corona test. Which was fucking positive. Very much so, right away. Goddamn it. I am not at all happy about this. It all started with my nephew on Sunday. So I got in from him. Mom too. And my stepdad. And today my poor sick grandpa too. I'm feeling like absolute shit. Feeling so sick and I fucking hate it. I'm already sick all the time. I did not need corona as well. I have chest pain. I have a bad cough. I have nose and throat pain. I have a fever and a very big headache. Though I have had those two for ages. But still. It sucks right now. In paaain all the time and it is the worst. It better last for just a few days. I better not get any lasting effects of this. It will not be okay if I get worse because of corona. I'm already sick enough. Shudders. So yeah. Please, fingers crossed for me. Supposed to have my tonsils operation in 13 days. Not sure if I can do that now or not. Sigh. Will see if I get well again fast enough, though. Feeling so worried about my grandpa. He was not supposed to get corona at all, as we don't know if he will survive it. Ahh. But. Positive thing is that we most likely only have omicron.
