The 100

Yesterday I started watching this series. I had seen so many people I adore loving it. But I had also peeked at episode one months ago, and thought it looked awful. But then. I wanted to try again. So last night I did. Episode one still sort of sucked, but my god. The other episodes. Bellamy. I cannot. The 100 is one hundred percent perfection. I ended up staying awake until two am last night, and I spent all of today watching more. I'm just all kinds of heartbroken that there isn't more than five episodes of Season 2 so far. I need more. And that ending. My god. It killed me a little. I just need so much more of it all.

Anyway. The point of this blog post. I wanted to share with you all how much I love this show. And a little bit about how it annoys me too. But mostly how much I love it. Because, damn. I have a lot of feelings about this show. Just wishing I had more episodes to watch. Hmph. Soon, though. There is so much I could say about The 100. But I will not talk about it forever, just a few things about the plot, and the characters. First, the story. It is different and all kinds of awesome. I loved the parts in space. I loved the parts on earth. I loved how damn evil they all are. But oh. There is so much killing. So many people die. And it broke my heart. Yet it was all kinds of awesome, because it is so honest. There is also this mountain. And I cannot. The things they do there.. shudders. It is all kinds of awful. Yet so interesting. I cannot wait to watch more about it. Yet I know it will kill me a little, as it is all so sad, yet so great too.

The there are all the characters. My favorite is Bellamy. And I won't say that much about him. Just that he is all kinds of amazing. So cute. And so brave and strong and I love how he do things. And how he changes too. He's just amazing. I love how he takes care of everyone, how much he loves his sister. All the things he does to protect her. But then, his sister. Octavia. I loved her to pieces. Yet I also hated her a tiny bit a few times, as I found her to be too hard on Bellamy. Hmph. But other than that, she's all kinds of awesome. Her romance story is so well done too. And heartbreaking. And amazing. There are so many other characters I love. Like Jasper. He's awesome. Monty too. Then there is that Kane guy. I kind of love to hate him, I think. Sometimes I adore him. Other times I hate him. Same thing with Murphy. I wanted him dead. Now I'm pretty sure I love him. Hmph. Just so many amazing characters.

Then there is Clarke. Whom is sort of the main character in this show. I cannot decide if I love her or not. Okay, fine, I pretty much adore her, but she also does some stupid shit I don't approve of. Like how she likes Finn. Hmph. After he did such an awful thing. I cannot. Wishing Clarke was smarter. But I still like her, and I have hope she will do better in the upcoming episodes. Maybe. Then there is also her mom, whom I sort of hate. My feelings are complicated. I really like Jaha, though. He seems pretty.

One thing that bothers me a whole lot is the romance. It this was a book, I would call it a love triangle. Because it sort of is. But at the same time, not, because there aren't kissing happening after the details are revealed. But there are hugs and such and it bothered me so much. Yet I'm trying not to think of it, because Bellamy. And I have hope Bellamy will be a bigger part of Clarke's life soon. Anyway. The romance thing. It starts with Clarke and Finn. And I just.. I hate Finn. I hate him so damn much. Especially after the newest episode. Why haven't anyone killed him yet? Whyy. It bothers me. Anyway. Romance. I hated watching Clarke and Finn. Especially once Raven gets there. And I loved Raven. And hated Finn so damn much. Yeah. He better die soon. And Clarke better stop having feelings for him. Because Clarke and Bellamy needs to happen. Right away. <3 So yeah. That is the only thing in this show that bothers me. But I'm dealing with it. Because I'm hoping Finn will be dead in a moment. He better.

Anyway. There is so much I love about The 100. It is just so so amazing. I thought I wouldn't like it, but I ended up loving it. And now I will search all over for more about it. I might even get the books to know more. Eeek. Maybe. I need to know first that Clarke and Bellamy will be a thing, lol :p But fingers crossed, and I have hope. If you still haven't watched The 100, then I really, really hope you will do so. Right away. I'm pretty sure it is now my favorite show of all of them. Which says a lot. But yeah. The 100 is all kinds of epic. And you should all watch it. Mostly for Bellamy. But for everything else as well. This show is worth it. Okay, it might be a little bit silly sometimes, but it is also all kinds of exciting. It is different and amazing and creepy and just so damn good. I'm so glad I started watching it last night.

In My Mailbox #161

This week I got a few more books. <3 But still not getting a lot, since I can't order all that many books, so mostly just pre-ordering these days. But that's okay :) Anyway. This week has actually been kind of awful. I haven't felt like doing anything. I have been hurting most of the time, with my whole body aching, which means I haven't been able to do much either. Though I have been training and swimming with sister a little bit. But yeah. I've been feeling pretty dead this week. And it makes me a bit sad, because I have so much to read, so much I want to read, but no energy to do so. I also haven't blogged much this week either. I have three posts each week that I do, which I'm happy about, but wishing it was more. Just haven't figured out what I should blog about yet. But soon! I hope. I also post reviews right after I read a book. I just need to read more, I suppose. Anyway. This week I read The Map to Everywhere. <3 Though that was on Monday. Haven't read anything since then. Hmph. Maybe today. I posted another Cress Tuesday. <3 And I'm waiting on Pip Bartlett's Guide to Magical Creatures :D Despite feeling all kinds of awful this week, I'm happy with the things I got. Have been dying for it for ages, hih. I'm going to re-read The Winner's Curse very, very soon I hope. I am just.. a little bit depressed. Well. All kinds of heartbroken. Because I did not get a print ARC of The Winner's Crime. And it has a special cover. And I need it more than anything else. And it breaks my heart, because there are no more ARCs of it :( SOBS. Does anyone have one they would trade or give me or anything? I would pay the shipping costs, ofc. <3 I just. I need that version so badly.

Waiting on Wednesday #163

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

PIP BARTLETT'S GUIDE TO MAGICAL CREATURES
BY MAGGIE STIEFVATER & JACKSON PEARCE

Goodreads Description:

From bestselling authors Maggie Stiefvater and Jackson Pearce comes an exciting new series full of magical creatures, whimsical adventures, and quirky illustrations.

Pip is a girl who can talk to magical creatures. Her aunt is a vet for magical creatures. And her new friend Tomas is allergic to most magical creatures. When things go amok—and they often go amok—Pip consults Jeffrey Higgleston’s Guide to Magical Creatures, a reference work that Pip finds herself constantly amending. Because dealing with magical creatures like unicorns, griffins, and fuzzles doesn’t just require book knowledge—it requires hands-on experience and thinking on your feet. For example, when fuzzles (which have an awful habit of bursting into flame when they’re agitated) invade your town, it’s not enough to know what the fuzzles are—Pip and Tomas also must trace the fuzzles’ agitation to its source, and in doing so, save the whole town.

~

She threw her hands in the air. "And you can't think of a single reason why I would want to be at that wedding?" "One more fling with your toy before he becomes Levana's property? You were swooning over him an awful lot at the--" Cinder punched him. Jacin stumbled against the wall, already chuckling as his hand came up to his cheekbone. "Did I hit a nerve, or was it a wire that time? You have plenty of both, right?" "He's not a toy, and he's not her property," she said. "Insult either of us again and next time I'll hit you with the metal fist." "You tell him, Cinder!" Iko cheered. Jacin lowered his hand, revealing a red mark. "Why do you care? This wedding isn't your problem."

~

Aw. Jacin not understanding the truth about Cinder.

Hmph. I had forgotten that he was kind of an asshole.
Also. Hoping reading this teaser wasn't too difficult :)

Was allowed to do this by Marissa and Macmillan; Thank you. <3 Marissa is the best. Check out her amazing website :D I'm also very much in love with the Lunar Chronicles facebook. So pretty. I hope you enjoy the teasers :) There will be one teaser each Tuesday. Can't wait for you all to read Cress :) Also, the teasers are now from my finished hardcover copy of Cress :D And oh, how it is gorgeous. <3

Review: The Map to Everywhere by Carrie Ryan & John Parke Davis

I am so pleased that I read this book. Because I loved every moment of it. Sigh. The Map to Everywhere is just all kinds of perfect. Heartbreaking. Yet also fun. And full of gorgeously written friendship. Look at that gorgeous cover. It is the most beautiful. And art inside! Dies. It couldn't be more perfect.

I'm not sure how to manage to share all my love for this book. There is so much of it. First, the writing is stunning. So much love. And the characters are all just so awesome and written so well. And the story is so exciting and fun and heartbreaking and I loved it all so much. This book is just all kinds of amazing.

There is so much I loved about this book. It is just so stunning. There are things happening at all times. There are pirates. A ship. A wizard. Talking trees. Freezing cold. Dangerous water. There is so much. And it is all so so exciting and interesting and I couldn't get enough of it all. This book is kind of long, yet at the same time it wasn't nearly long enough. I need and want so much more. So much more of Fin and Marrill. And I hope there will be. Fingers crossed. There is also a map in this book. And it is so interesting to read about. And there is a bad guy too, the Oracle. Who cries all the time. It was kind of freaky. I loved it. There is also a cat. Karnelius. Whom you can see on the cover. I found him to be all kinds of adorable. So cute.

The Map to Everywhere is told from the point of view of Fin. And Marrill. Whom are both twelve, I think. And oh my gosh. They are both all kinds of adorable and I couldn't love them any more. I won't say too much about them, just that Marrill gets sort of trapped on a ship, far away from her sick mom, with no way of getting back to her. As there are many different worlds in this book. And oh. I adored reading about Marrill. How she fights to get home. How kind and brave she is. Just how awesome she is.

Then there is Fin. And my heart cannot take it. It is full of love for him. And full of heartbreak, because his story might be the saddest I have ever read in a book. Sobs. And also the best, I think. Sigh. I just need someone to love my Fin. You see. His whole life, no one has remembered him. He talks to anyone, then turns away, and they have forgotten about him. Every single person. Heartbreak. So Fin is now a thief. And he is all alone. And my heart cannot take it. It's so sad. Yet it is also all kinds of perfect too.

How many times had it been made clear to Fin that he was alone in this world?
That no one else could help him, care for him, be there for him?

Which is where Marrill comes in. Because she sees Fin. And she remembers him. And my gosh. It is so cute. And so sad. Because Fin. He is so broken, in a way, despite being just a kid. It all just made me so sad. Yet so happy too, to see the growing friendship between Fin and Marrill. I just hope there will be more. I am not done reading about them being together. Not at all. And I am just so excited for more about this world. I want to read more about all of the amazing characters. Even the creepy trees.

I am not going to say much more about this book. Just that it is an fantastic middle grade book. It is full of adventure and heartbreak and all kinds of fun. The Map to Everywhere is a unique book. It will always have a special place in my heart. As will Fin and Marrill. Just hoping to read more of them. I just love how much I loved this book. And I know it is a book I cannot wait to re-read. And a book I need you all to read too. Because it truly is spectacular. And I think everyone will love it to pieces, like I have done. <3

There was one thing I disliked. One tiny small part about the ending. Hmph. I mean, the ending is all kinds of awesome. The happiest it can be. Probably. But. Book two. If Fin and Marrill aren't together in it I will be all kinds of heartbroken. Not sure I can handle that. So I just. I need them to be together again. Pretty please. I hope and think so, since this is a series, but I do not know, and it makes my heart hurt a little bit. But either way I think I will be all kinds of pleased with book two. I just cannot wait to read it.

The pirate dropped his dagger, pushing Marrill over to Fin. Her shoulder bumped against his,
and he felt something strange tugging at his hand. It took him a moment to realize that Marrill
had laced her fingers through his. She was holding his hand! No one had ever done that before.

Huge thank you to Hermione & Nina at the UK publisher, Orion Children's Books, for sending me the hardcover to read and review. <3 I'm so happy I picked it up right away. It looks all kinds of stunning. I also have the US hardcover. And I will be getting all the upcoming copies too. Because, sigh. This book is gorgeous. And so good. And I need to own everything about it. Just now dying for book two, and hoping for news about it very shortly. I need you all to read this book. It's amazing. Go buy it right away. <3

In My Mailbox #160

This week have been better. Well, my body is dead at all times, but I know it will always be so. Hmph. But I have read a little bit. And I'm feeling better, sort of. This week I actually didn't get much at all. I got a whole bunch of movies, which I'm sharing, but not many books at all. Might be because I have so little space left, and I only pre-order books :p Sigh. One day I will win the lottery. I hope :D Anyway. I am happy with what I got this week. <3 And what I read this week. Though I wish I would blog more. I want to do a new weekly blog thing. But I'm not sure what. Any suggestions? This week I posted another Cress Tuesday. <3 I'm waiting on Fairest. So excited. I read Shutter, which I didn't like much. Sigh. Then I read the short story This Night So Dark, which I enjoyed a lot. And then I read This Shattered World, which I loved. <3 Ohh. Also. I didn't get any pre-orders this week. Sigh. But maybe next week. <3 Also. It is now winter here with me, which means dark almost all the time, so my pictures will not be light anymore. Hmph. But they don't look too awful. I hope :) Ohh! I also saw Interstellar this week. Which I really enjoyed. Though it broke my heart a little. And the wave planet! So awesome. But all those years. Sad face. But so good. Also got The Hobbit tickets for December 10th. <3 What did you get this week? <3

The Map to Everywhere. Eeeek! Huge thank you to Hermione & Nina at Orion publishing in the UK for this gorgeous hardcover for review. <3 I think I'm reading this one next. I can't wait. Sounds awesome :)
Ribbon. Gorgeous Pushing the Limits ribbon and bookmark that I got from Katie. <3 Thank you so much.

Movies. Most of these were on sale. <3 And I have to have all the Disney classics on blu-ray. I just have to, hih. Love so many of these. <3 Haven't seen all of them yet. :) I won Solan og Ludvig + Børning + The Fault in Our Stars from Platekompaniet here in Norway :D I won 8 movies, some aren't out yet, coming soon. So so excited, hih. I think I need to re-watch Noah very soon. I loved that one.

Illusionarium. Crimson Bound. These covers are so stunning that I needed to have the image be big, hih. I downloaded these two from Edelweiss, as I am still auto-approved for HarperTeen there, dies. <3 SO excited about Illusionarium. It sounds amazing. And I adore the author. I'm also so excited about Crimson Bound. But.. I peeked at the ending last night. And I saw something that made me so angry and upset and ugh. I am not reading this for a long time, I think. Sigh. If you want to know, you could ask me on twitter about it, hiih. It just made me so upset. Sniffs. But anyway. So excited about these :D

Review: This Shattered World by Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner

Reading this book was so much fun. And I'm so glad I was able to read it now. Because I loved it to pieces. Sigh. It was just all kinds of awesome. I was worried I wouldn't like it, as I had some issues with These Broken Stars, but I didn't have to worry. Because This Shattered World was all kinds of perfect for me.

Okay, I say reading it was fun. That might be a lie. Because reading this book was all kinds of heartbreaking. Yet there is so much to love in it too. And there is some fun scenes as well; scenes between Jubilee and Flynn. But for the most part this book is full of feelings. And I loved that. I loved that so much.

There is so much I could say about this book. So much about it that I loved. First I will say that I loved the writing, which might confuse me a little, as I seem to remember not liking it in book one. Hmph. But maybe I would enjoy book one more now, if I re-read it. Which I am going to do, one day. Fingers crossed. <3 Anyway. The writing in this book is stunning. And I loved that it is told from the point of view of Jubilee and Flynn. As they both are amazing characters. And I just adored reading about them both. Sigh. I loved how their relationship starts. There is kidnapping. And other hurtful things. Lots of pain. But then it turns into something more. And I loved reading about it so much. Because I found it to be very real. Well, at least to me. And it was just all kinds of fun. And they are just so sweet together. I'm so happy that I loved them both.

I really liked the plot in this book. Reading about the planet, Avon, was all kinds of amazing. It was different. And it seemed so awful. Just, swamps. Ugh. And fog. And no stars. And just so so interesting to read about. Then there are the rebels. And the soldiers. And all the differences. And I cannot even begin to explain it all. Just want to mention a few small things. How exciting all of it is. How much I loved getting to know everything. And how I wish there was so much more for me to read. I need more.

One thing I didn't fully get was the whispers thing. It were in book one. And in this one too. and while I understood it, for the most part, I just didn't fully get the point of it. But it was interesting to read about too. Just also a little bit sad. Sniffs. There is just so much about this story that I adored. I loved how everyone fit into it. I liked reading about Molly. He was awesome. And I found Sean to be an interesting character too. Well, probably. I only wanted to read about the J&F, but I liked them all.

There is so much I could say about Flynn. Sigh. He was just so amazing to read about. And I loved him the most, I think. Wishing I had gotten to know even more about him, though. But I loved what I do know of him. How strong he is, how brave, how gentle, how kind. He is also very smart. And I just adored him to pieces. And Jubilee too. I loved reading about her past. And how strong she is too. And how she doesn't dream. And just everything about her. She was a fierce character and I loved her so.

I'm not going to say all that much about This Shattered World. Just that it is different. Yet all kinds of awesome. And I enjoyed reading it so much. There are a whole bunch of sad and heartbreaking moments. Yet some really sweet ones too. There is a little bit of romance. Wishing there had been more, because there could have been, hmph. And oh. There are a lot of deaths in this book as well. And some I really wish hadn't happened. So mean. Yet I couldn't help but love everything that happened. <3

There is a bit of Tarver and Lilac in this book too. Not much, sobs, but also just enough, as I did fall in love with Jubilee and Flynn. But yeah. There is some Tarver in this book. And he is just all kinds of awesome. Sigh. I really hope there will be a little bit more of all the characters in book three. I would love to read more about them all. As I adore all of them and I don't think their stories are done. Okay, fine, I just want more of them all. Though this book is amazing. I just always want more of everything.

Huge thank you to Cassie at Disney-Hyperion for letting me be able to read and review This Shattered World via NetGalley. <3 I'm so glad I read this book right now. Because it was all kinds of awesome. And I cannot wait to get my pre-ordered hardcover of it. This Shattered World was an excellent book. It is full of heartbreak and pain. Yet also some hope and romance. It is one of the best books. And I'm so glad I was able to read it. I think you should all read this book. Because it is perfect. And I loved it so much.

Mini Review: This Night So Dark by Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner

I'm so glad I read this short story. Because it was all kinds of awesome. I had some issues with These Broken Stars, so I wasn't sure I would enjoy this, but I did. I liked it a whole lot. Though it is only fifty pages. Hmph. Wishing it had been so much longer. But yeah. This was a four star read for me. <3

I won't say too much about this short story, because it is very short. But it is a Tarver story. Whom I did love reading about in These Broken Stars. I loved reading this story from him. It is all kinds of interesting and a little bit creepy too. I also really liked the writing, which I'm so happy about. So thrilled I liked this.

I think what I liked the most about this short story is the very short peeks where we get to read a little bit about Tarver and Lilac. As I would love to read more about them. Sigh. I will be reading an eARC of This Shattered World next, and I cannot wait to read it. <3 As it sounds all kinds of amazing and I'm hoping so much that I will love it. Anyway. This Night So Dark is an amazing short story. It is exciting and sad and just all kinds of awesome. I'm glad I read it. And I think you should all read it too, if you have already read These Broken Stars. And if you have yet to read that book, you really should get started :) I just found this short story to be all kinds of interesting. And I'm just crossing all my fingers that I will love This Shattered World too. <3 I think so. And I can't wait to get started on it. Have you read these books yet?

I'm sure you all know of my love for Marissa Meyer and her books. As I have been sharing about it with my Cress Tuesdays for more than a year now. <3 And just. Marissa is all kinds of amazing. I adore her. And her books are just so damn good. Especially Cinder and Kai, hiiih. <3 But I also loved reading about Levana. Which is why I'm super excited about Fairest. It sounds so so good. And it is more from this amazing world. And I just cannot wait to read this book. I'm sure it will be all kinds of awesome. Just wishing I didn't have to wait so long for Winter. Ack! But it will be worth it, I'm sure. So excited. <3
What are you waiting for on this veiled Wednesday?

Review: Shutter by Courtney Alameda

I adore this book cover. It is all kinds of creepy and the book sounds so good. Which is why I knew I had to read it. So when I won an ARC from Fierce Reads I had to read right away. Except that didn't happen. Because it has taken me many days to read this book. And I didn't love it. And oh. It just makes me so sad.

I'm not sure where to begin. So I'm beginning with my rating of this book. I'm giving it a two star. Though a lot of the time it was a one star for me. But at the same time, it wasn't that bad. But yeah. It wasn't very good either. I just had such huge issues with this book, and it makes me so sad, as I wanted to love it.

My issues with this book started right away. I did not like the way it was written. I didn't connect with any of the characters. I wasn't scared. I didn't care for the romance. I didn't understand the relationship between the girl and the three boys. Because it isn't shown. There isn't any feelings in this book. At least not for me. I couldn't bring myself to care for any of it. The girl has a bad past, but I didn't give a damn. I wanted to. But it was written in a way I do not like, which means I didn't care at all. And this book focus on descriptions. It doesn't focus on the characters at all. It doesn't focus on the current plot much either. Most of the book is of the girl describing things in her head. I didn't get it. Sigh. I just wanted it all to be so much better.

The book is told from the point of view of Micheline Helsing. I'm not sure if I liked her at all. Her personality was kind of.. different. Sometimes I liked her, but most of the time I just found her boring. And I just didn't care much about her at all. Sigh. Her relationship with her dad.. he was an idiot. And I hated how she handled it all. Sigh. She could have been so much better. But she wasn't. I sort of felt sorry for her, her past with her mom and her brothers. But it wasn't done well enough for me to feel.

Micheline is friends with three boys. Ryder, Jude and Oliver. I didn't get this friendship AT ALL. I didn't see any connection with any of them. We didn't get to read about their friendship. WHY they are friends. I didn't see them being friends either. And this is a big reason for why I did not like this book. The friendship could have been so amazing to read about. It wasn't. It was dull. Just so boring. And that just makes me so sad. And a little bit angry. Because I really wanted this book to be so much more.

I'm not even sure about the romance in this book. Ryder and Micheline. It is weird. Kind of cute. But all kinds of boring and I didn't love reading about it. Sigh. And I love romances in books. But this. I just had no feelings for any of them. And it bothered me so damn much. I'm just really upset that I did not like this book. Hmph. But I also didn't hate it, which is why it's a two star rating. I just wish and wish I had loved this book. I wish it had been better for me. But it wasn't. And I'm going to be honest about it.

The plot. I am not sure about it. There were too many descriptions of it all. I wasn't able to pay much attention. Which does not happen often. I wanted this book to scare me. To be all kinds of creepy yet awesome too. But it wasn't. Not for me. There are ghosts. And necros. And a whole bunch of other things. They are all the best at killing them, taking them down. All skilled with a gun. And it just. It felt a bit over-the-top for me. I'm not sure why. Sigh. I just couldn't seem to like it at all. Hmph. How mean.

Thing is, I think I would have liked the plot and the characters if they had been in the book more. If most of it hadn't been descriptions. If the characters had talked. If more things had happened. I think I would have loved it. But it wasn't like that. And yeah. I'm probably just saying the same thing over and over again, but I can't help it. I didn't like this book. Sorry. Though not really. There were a few things I liked, though. But not many. Some of the story I really enjoyed. I think I liked the ending. Well, maybe.

But there was just too much about this book that I didn't enjoy at all. Which is why I know I will not read this book again. Sigh. It just makes me sad. But it is the truth. I wanted this to be a book for me; but it wasn't. I'm just glad I'm finally done reading it, as it did take forever. I am thankful that I was able to read it early. And I am glad I read it. I just wish I had enjoyed it. But yeah. The way it was written ruined so much for me. I just need books that are written well. As in, well for me. And this was not.

Huge thank you to Fierce Reads, since I won their twitter giveaway for this ARC. <3 I will treasure it always. Because while I didn't love the inside, I adore the outside of this book. It is so damn stunning. Also huge thank you to Macmillan Kids on NetGalley, as I also got the eARC of this book from there. Anyway. I had issues with this book. But I still think some might really like it. And I do think you should all read Shutter. I think many will love it and find it to be creepy. It just wasn't a book for me. Sigh.

She gasped and raised her hand again, just as he shot forward. One hand wrapped around her wrist, the other clamped around her neck, his movements so fast Cinder fell onto the floor. For a moment it was Thorne on top of her, blue eyes surprisingly calm as he pinned her to the ground. Then he morphed. His stare became cold and crystalline, his hair grew longer and lighter, and his clothes melded into the red and gray uniforms of the Lunar royal guard.

~

This is early in the book. Well. Sort of. And it is kind of creepy too.
Shudders. Cinder is all kinds of awesome, though. <3

Was allowed to do this by Marissa and Macmillan; Thank you. <3 Marissa is the best. Check out her amazing website :D I'm also very much in love with the Lunar Chronicles facebook. So pretty. This have been a very, very lazy week. I'm not sure why. I just haven't felt like doing anything. No reading. No blogging. No Instagramming. Well, almost. I just haven't had time for much. Waiting on Wednesday #161

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

THE CAGE BY MEGAN SHEPHERD

Goodreads Description:

When Cora Mason wakes in a desert, she doesn't know where she is or who put her there. As she explores, she finds an impossible mix of environments--tundra next to desert, farm next to jungle--and a strangely empty town cobbled together from different cultures and time periods, all watched over by eerie black windows. And she isn't alone.

Four other teenagers have also been taken: a beautiful model, a tattooed smuggler, a secretive genius, and an army brat who seems to know too much about Cora's past. None of them have a clue as to what happened, and all of them have secrets. As the unlikely group struggles for leadership, they slowly start to trust each other. But when their mysterious jailer appears--a handsome young guard named Cassian--they realize that their captivity is more terrifying than they could ever imagine: their captors aren't from Earth. And they have taken they five teenagers to an otherworldly zoo--where the exhibits are humans.

When a forbidden attraction develops between Cora and Cassian, she realizes that her best chance of escape might be in the arms of her own jailer--though that would mean leaving the others behind. Can Cora manage to save herself and her companions? And if so…what world lies beyond the walls of their cage?

Hardcover, 400 pages
Expected publication: May 26th 2015 by Balzer & Bray/Harperteen

Crossing my fingers :D Doesn't it sound awesome?

Review: Soulprint by Megan Miranda

Soulprint was all kinds of awesome. And I'm so glad that I read it. When I first heard of it, I knew I had to read it, because I adore Megan Miranda. She is amazing. And I thought this new book of hers sounded amazing. Then I saw it on NetGalley; was so happy when I got accepted to read it. <3 So glad I loved it.

I like both the UK and the US cover editions of this book. For my review I'm using the UK edition, as this is the one I got accepted for via NetGalley. <3 But yess. I need to buy them both. As I really enjoyed this book and I need to own it as well. And, yeah, the covers are pretty gorgeous. Which the inside is as well.

I knew I would like Soulprint, but I didn't know how much I would like it. And I liked it a whole lot. First, the writing is pretty amazing. Which is a big plus for me. I found the story to be all kinds of exciting. And I adored reading about all the characters. Soulprint is a different book. And I loved reading everything in it. I'm not going to explain the plot to you, because it is all kinds of awesome, and you should definitely read it for yourself. But yess. I adored reading about it. It is about soulprinting and it is different and exciting and I loved learning the reasons for everything. Most of the book is about the characters, though, and not the world it is written in. Which I liked. Though I would also have loved learning more about the world, research and everything. But at the same time I loved that this book was more focused on all the characters.

Soulprint is told from the point of view of seventeen year old Alina. Whom I adored reading about. But oh. My heart also broke for her, because she have lived her whole life trapped on an island. She has a house, and just about everything she wants, but she is also alone. She cannot leave. She cannot talk to anyone. People work there with her, but only for a month, then they are gone. And my heart just. It is so sad. And I adored reading about Alina. Because she is strong. And sweet. And yeah. I just loved her.

This book is about Alina escaping. Escaping from the island that traps her. From the people who are holding her there. Which, there is a reason for. Which has to do with the whole soulprinting. Because Alina's soul was the soul of June. Who did terrible things. And people are afraid Alina will continue these things, though she remembers nothing about her soul belonging to June before she died. Anyway. It is all kinds of complicated yet not when I read it. So I shall not say more about it. Just, it's very awesome.

There is so much happening in this book. And I couldn't begin to talk about all of it. There is running from people. Running with people. Lots of hiding. Yet also lots of amazing characters. I adored reading about Cameron. And Casey. And they are both all kinds of awesome. There is also Dominic, whom I didn't like at all. Hmph. But also. There is romance. And there is not a triangle of any sorts. The romance is slow yet real and I adored it to pieces. There isn't much of it, but it's so sweet and I loved it.

I'm not sure my review is making a lot of sense. As I want to explain this book better, but my head won't let me. Which is just all kinds of mean. But I'm trying. I'm trying to tell you how much I enjoyed this book. How awesome the writing is. How amazing all the characters are to read about. Their history is all kinds of perfect. And I just loved everything in this book. Okay, I had a few small issues, which is why it's a four star and not a five star, but that is just because I felt like I could have loved it even more.

I'm not going to say much more about this book. Just that I would have loved a sequel. So much. Because there is more that I need to know. More about Alina and Cameron. And Casey too. And curious to know if more happens with the plot. And Alina's parents. I need to know. I need to know what happens next. Ack. But anyway. I adored Soulprint. It was an amazing story and I cannot wait to read it again. It is full of action and exciting moments. Some really cute romance too. It is just all kinds of awesome.

Huge thank you to Bloomsbury Childrens for accepting my request to read and review Soulprint early. <3 I'm so glad I got the chance to. And so happy that I enjoyed this book so much. Just, yeah. I'm really, really hoping there will be a second book. And a third. And more. Because while this book ends in an awesome way, there can still be more. And I want more so badly. I would love to read more about Alina and Cameron. <3 I think a lot of people would love this book. So you should all read it :D Go order it. <3

At Jacin's mocking grin, Cinder started to laugh, the tension rising off her shoulders like heat waves off the desert sand. At least her cyborg programming could still tell whether or not he was lying to her. Which meant he hadn't been lying when he'd said he was loyal to his princess, and his princess alone.

~

This part of the book was interesting. I still don't know Jacin enough, but I'm curious to get to know him more in Winter. As in,
seeing him with Winter, the girl. I'm all kinds of curious about their relationship. <3 Eeeek. I just cannot wait for book four.

Was allowed to do this by Marissa and Macmillan; Thank you. <3 Marissa is the best. Check out her amazing website :D I'm also very much in love with the Lunar Chronicles facebook. So pretty.
