Review: Dearly, Departed by Lia Habel

When I first read the summary for this book, I was so sure it would be a zombie love story. And it sounded so awesome. And the cover is seriously beautiful.

But I was kind of wrong. The book does not focus on a love story. At least not for the first 60% of it. And that kind of sucked. Was so hoping for an amazing love story. But I did get something else I had hoped for. An great zombie book. Because this is a zombie book. And it is all kinds of awesome.

There is a love story in there though. Just not as much as I wished there would be. Hoping there will be more in the next book :)

I really liked the plot, and the places, and the characters. I just wasn't entirely happy with the writing. At the beginning I was very happy with the POV switch between Bram and Nora, but then I got annoyed at the other POV's :p But in the end, I ended up liking those too :)

I don't really want to give too much away, but this is a must read. It just wasn't as good as I had hoped. I also felt like the ending was kind of rushed. But I believe this is a series, so I am extremely excited to read about what happens next :)

Review: The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater

THIS IS A MUST READ! And oh god. I am so glad I read it. It is one of the best books I have read. It is stunning. And amazing. And so, so, so good.

I don't know how to describe this book. Other than saying how freaking awesome it is. I love the characters in it. I really liked Kate "Puck" Conolly. She is fierce. And so great. And I loved her brother; Finn. He was just too cute and adorable. And so nice. I did not like her other brother, Gabriel, though. Not really.

And oh, Sean Kendrick. He is so amazing. He is pretty, (I think), and so kind, and sweet. And extremely protective. Of Corr. And just omg. I loved Corr. So much. I want my own Corr. I also really liked George Holly. He was kind of awesome.

But I really, really, really hated Mutt. SO MUCH HATE. I wished to murder him all the time while reading. And I cannot say how deeply I wished for Sean to punch him. Or for someone else to do it. He was pure evil. His father too, somewhat. But not as much as Mutt.

I really liked the little romance in this book. I wish it would have been much more, but I didn't need it to love the book. I loved the way everything was written. Switching between Sean and Puck's POV, but it wasn't third POV :D And that I really liked.

However, what I loved the most about this book was the capaill uisce. I LOVED THE HORSES! They creeped me out so much. But I just couldn't help but loving them, still. I absolutely loved that they were water horses. And oh, they were just too good for words.

This book is most definetly a must read. If you haven't already. It is always interesting. It will make you fall in love so many times. But it will also scare the crap out of you. Kind of :)

Review: Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

When I saw the cover for this book months ago, I just new that I had to read it. The cover is pretty, and very.. mysterious. And then, this month, I won copy of it! And oh, it looks so pretty. But the book wasn't that good. Not really.

I didn't like the writing much, and I kind of hated the beginning. First we get to meet the lead guy's grandfather, who then dies, and then suddenly we are skipping through a year where he is so depressed and etc. He also has no friends. He had one almost best friend to "protect him" at school, against what, I have no idea, since we never read about him being at school. But then he lost said friend.

I just did not understand the meaning of the whole year that was skipped through. But, after many pages the book started to get better. I still didn't care for the writing, but it started getting interesting and full of mystery. And a tiny bit of stupid romance. That didn't feel like romance at all. But still.

PS: I liked that this book had pictures in it. Although the pictures where kind of creepy. But creepy awesome.

Don't want to say too much of the book, because that would spoil it, but it is an interesting book. And if you have time, it is something you should read :) Although it ended very.. mean. With a cliffhanger. So there must be another book. But I don't think there will be. At least not until 2013, goodreads says o.O But I shall pick that up, then :)

Review: Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

I have been waiting for this book a long time. Before I even saw the cover of it. I started following Tahereh on twitter ages ago, because she seemed so amazing, and then later on I found out she had an book that was coming out. Then I read the summary. And I kind of died. Because, oh, it was so amazing. So I have been waiting patiently (kind of) for months, and today I finally got to read it.

And may I just say, wow. It is simply stunning. Absolutely perfect. Every part of it. I adore the writing, even though I have never read a book like it before. I loved the words that were crossed out. Those were amazing. Because it let me see much better what Juliette was really thinking. :)

I also liked the world it was set in. Everything. Every little piece. And oh, Juliette's power is amazing. I loved it. Very much (A) Wish I had it too. Hih. The best thing, however, is Adam. Adam Kent. The most adorable, sweetest boy. <3 I also wish he was mine. And I just couldn't help falling in love with him :)

A not normal thing for me, was to also love Juliette. <3 I don't normally like the lead girl, but I really liked Juliette. She was strong. And kind. And smart. And I love the way she thinks. There was other characters I also loved. Like James. But oh, I HATED Warner. So, so much. And after some pages near the end, I hated him even more. Wish he won't be in the next books. *Wishes.*

My only complaint? I wish the book was longer. Much, much longer. It was a bit too short. But it wasn't so bad, really, because it ended good. At least to me :D And I simply can not wait for the next book. <3

If you have not read this book yet, then I do not know what is wrong with you. But, either way, you MUST pick it up :D It will be worth it. <3

In My Mailbox is an amazing weekly meme made by The Story Siren :)

Review: Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare

I am not sure if I am ready to write this review yet. My heart and mind is still too much broken. But I am going to try.

My review may contain a few tiny spoilers. Although I do not say anything about what happens :) Only how I feel about it all.

First, I got this book early because Norway was one of the countries that released it early. I ordered it last week, because it said they had it in stock. I never thought I would actually get it. But then it shipped on Monday, and I wasn't entirely sure they shipped Clockwork Prince. But then it arrived yesterday morning. And it was Clockwork Prince! The UK paperback special edition. And it looks so pretty.

I did just as I always do with books; I read the ending first. And peeked at a few pages in between. I should NOT have done that. It broke my heart. In half. But I still started at the beginning of the book, and I read all day long. And I did finish it yesterday too.

First I must just say that the plot and story is simply amazing. And the writing is also great. I don't want to give the story away, so you'll just have to see for yourself :) I did like all of the characters, though. Charlotte is awesome. And Henry is so sweet. And Sophie.. I really like her too. Not so sure about Jessamine though. I might like her. Maybe.

My biggest love though, is Will. And he killed me in this book. I am still hating Cassie for that. We get to learn his secret, and oh, it really is heart breaking. TINY SPOILER: Will is the sweetest and kindest person there is.

I still do not like Jem. I know many people love him and whatever, but I don't feel anything for him at all. Will is the one I love. And to me, Jem is just in the way. Just so you know :D

I kind of like Tessa. She is smart. And kind. And beautiful. But oh, I hated her near the end. Which you will understand once you read this book. The end is a killer. SERIOUSLY. It kills. Only, it kills the reader. That is, if you have feelings ;)

The ending broke my heart. And I am still broken. It is the first book that has made me cry so much. And I still want to cry when I think of it. Which I try not to do. I can not wait for Clockwork Princess. I need it.

Anyway, this is an amazing book. But I am still only giving it a four star, because of what the ending did to me. The plot is worthy of a five star, though :) And Clockwork Prince is a must read. I think. Mostly. If you can bare it.

Review: Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare

I just finished reading Clockwork Angel for the second time. I read it first over a year ago, and I haven't re-read it before now because the ending kind of hurt. And I still remembered it all very well :)

I loved this book. I discovered it after having read the Mortal Instruments series by Cassie, and then I read the summary. And I just knew I had to read it. And oh, Clockwork Angel have not disappointed me.

It is set in an amazing world. I just love the Shadowhunters :) They are amazing. And I really liked that it was so long ago, it made the story even better. The plot is also really great, and it keeps you interested at all times.

And oh. Will. William Herondale. He is the best thing about this book. He is mostly an ass at all times, but you just can't help loving him. Mostly because it is very easy to see that he has been hurt much worse than how he hurts others. He is still a mystery by the end of this book, and I know that many hate him at the end, but I can not. Ever.

I also really liked Tessa. She was kind, and sweet, and kind of awesome. I kind of, almost, liked Jem. I would have liked him a whole lot better if he wasn't a second love interest. Hih (A) The other characters in this book is also amazing. <3

I can't wait for Clockwork Prince. Even though I am dreading it. Since the love triangle will be so much.. bigger. But, I have hopes. Anyway, this is a must read book. As is every book by Cassandra :)

Cover Reveal: Once (Eve, #2) by Anna Carey

I like this cover a lot. And I very much loved Eve. Thought it was amazing :D Kind of hated how it ended though.. So I am really excited about Once :) Can't wait to find out what happens next. <3 And I really need more Caleb ;) Goodreads also had a new summary for it, which seems amazing!

Sixteen years have passed since a deadly virus wiped out most of the Earth’s population. After learning of the terrifying part she and her classmates were fated to play in the rebuilding of New America, eighteen-year-old Eve fled to the wilds and Califia, a haven for women determined to live outside the oppressive rule of the king of New America. However, her freedom came at a price: she was forced to leave Caleb, the boy she loves, wounded and alone at the city gates. Eve quickly learns that Califia may not be as safe as it seems and soon finds herself in the City of Sand and the palace of the king. There she uncovers the real reason he was so intent on her capture, and the unbelievable role he intends her to fill. Brimming with danger and star-crossed romance, and featuring a vivid dystopian landscape, this electrifying follow-up to Eve, which bestselling author Lauren Kate called “a gripping, unforgettable adventure—and a fresh look at what it means to love” is sure to appeal to fans who crave the high-stakes adventure of The Hunger Games and the irresistible love story of Romeo and Juliet.

CLOCKWORK PRINCE BY CASSANDRA CLARE

Goodreads Description:

In the magical underworld of Victorian London, Tessa Gray has at last found safety with the Shadowhunters. But that safety proves fleeting when rogue forces in the Clave plot to see her protector, Charlotte, replaced as head of the Institute. If Charlotte loses her position, Tessa will be out on the street and easy prey for the mysterious Magister, who wants to use Tessa's powers for his own dark ends.

With the help of the handsome, self-destructive Will and the fiercely devoted Jem, Tessa discovers that the Magister's war on the Shadowhunters is deeply personal. He blames them for a long-ago tragedy that shattered his life. To unravel the secrets of the past, the trio journeys from mist-shrouded Yorkshire to a manor house that holds untold horrors, from the slums of London to an enchanted ballroom where Tessa discovers that the truth of her parentage is more sinister than she had imagined. When they encounter a clockwork demon bearing a warning for Will, they realize that the Magister himself knows their every move and that one of their own has betrayed them.

Tessa finds her heart drawn more and more to Jem, though her longing for Will, despite his dark moods, continues to unsettle her. But something is changing in Will; the wall he has built around himself is crumbling. Could finding the Magister free Will from his secrets and give Tessa the answers about who she is and what she was born to do?

As their dangerous search for the Magister and the truth leads the friends into peril, Tessa learns that when love and lies are mixed, they can corrupt even the purest heart.

I am extremely excited for this book! I want it now. But I also get so sad when I think about it. Because I love Will more than anything. And all I want is for him to be happy. But I know there will be lots of heartbreak for Will in Clockwork Prince. Cassie said the only time she cried while writing it, was because of Will. And that just breaks my heart. And it also breaks my heart that Tessa will be kissing with Jem, and falling in love with Jem, because I know that will hurt Will. And it will hurt me. Because I do not like Jem much. But that is because I love Will. Only Will. Hih (A)
